Glad to see you all are so excited about the movie! Guess not so many Will/Elizabeth fans are here…so what do you think of Penélope Cruz coming onboard as a possible Jack love interest?
You’re right about the director - Rob Marshall (director of Nine and Chicago) came onboard to direct this one, but don’t worry - it’ll still have that same sense of humor and action/adventure that you loved about the first three.

Barbossa and Sparrow are the real jewels among the Pirates franchise, they were by far the most entertaining pieces in the trilogy… I also loved Elizabeth, her role in Curse of the Black Pearl was fantastic, I was really rooting for a romance between her and Jack.
I kind of liked Liz, too, but I really hated how she pulled that trick on Sparrow at the end of the second, and then she suddenly does that about-turn during the finale. There was no build-up (not that I can remember) and I remember feeling cheated. But no hard feelings, Knightley. I would love for you and Bloom to have a cameo return.
The second and third are really fun, but you have to pay close attention, because their plots take a lot more twists, turns, double-crosses and triple-crosses than the first movie.
I guess I’d agree with this, TDIT. I liked her fairly well in the first movie. And then, after that, I’ve not been able to tolerate her character. Honestly, she’s the only element of the series I don’t like.
