Pixar Internships 2011

I soooo agree with you pickly pixar! How long after the deadline did you get a phone call?
D: I’m like mega nervous!!!

And Joro126, I can sympathize. It’s tough trying to get 3d animation and such modelled animated and rendered whilst trying to keep up with your normal curricula classes alongside it. My hat off to you ^^ hope you get your animation problem figured out!

I hope the best for you guys, I’m sooooo excited !!!

Hi guys, I applyed for the PuP too  i’m from europe and i soooo hope to get at least to the interview! It would be really a great “reward” for me  if anyone gets in the next days some mail back please let me know ^^
I sent some 2D works and three animated shots…let see  good luckkk

I applied for the PUP internship 2 weeks ago. So I’m hoping to hear something soon. I don’t have my hopes up since so many talented people apply but I’m still excited anyway. I was just wondering I’m a sophomore and I read this internship said something about “for students at the begining off their career” or something along the lines of that so what year in school is everyone? I wasn’t sure if any juniors or seniors applied.

Also I was wondering if anybody had their demo reels they sent online or even some work. It was my first time putting a demo reel toegther and wanted to see how everyone else went about it?

PUP is for freshman and sophomore. Students in junior and senior year are suppose to apply for “real” internships. I was a freshman when I applied for PUP and am now a junior.

That being said Im starting get get realll worried I havent received an email yet regarding this years TD internship.

You can find a whole bunch of demo reels from people who applied for an internship at Pixar on both vimeo and youtube. Not too hard to find actually.

From the Pixar Intern FAQ:

If you are interested in a Technical Director Internship, you must be currently in college working towards your Bachelors, Masters or PhD Degree and returning to school following your internship at Pixar.

For all other internship opportunities you must be in or have completed at least your Junior year of college, be a graduate student, or have graduated the year the internship commences.

I was under the impression you had to at least be a junior to apply :s But I’m not sure  I guess we’ll find out!

So has anyone heard anything yet? Last year a lot of people who got phone interviews heard after a week and it’s been a week.

Havent heard anything yet. Does anyone know if they contact you for interviews or rejection letters via email or regular snail mail?

If you were selected for an interview. You would have received an email. If you get an offer, then they will be mailing you papers such as your official offer letter.

They only send the rejection emails once the candidates have been officially hired so around the end of April.

Man, this waiting thing is nerve-wracking. So no-one’s heard anything yet?

If anyone else is like me, I never reveal when I receive an interview. I will only say something if I received an offer.

Just curious, but how come?

Out of curiosity, which internships did everyone apply to? Did anybody here apply for the Post-Production one? I tried looking for some information on it online, but nothing really came up… I wonder if it was a new position they added this year. Has anybody heard anything / been contacted for an interview yet?

I applied for the Technical Undergraduate Program: haven’t heard anything :stuck_out_tongue:

I haven’t heard anything, and I applied for the PUP and animation internship;

note that the animation internship due date isn’t until April 4 though.

I wish all of you luck!

I think I’ve been jinxing myself in the past by getting excited over interviews and telling my friends that I did get one. So I’m going to try and just keep quiet for now until the interview process is over.

I think it’s fine to get excited and tell your friends you got an interview. I mean even getting an interview means pixar is interested in your work. Just my opinion. I haven’t heard anything yet
