I applied for a few internships at Disney Interactive about 2 weeks ago and haven’t heard anything. Some have said that Disney takes a while to get back to you. I also just applied for the Blue Sky Story Artist Training Program, which seems really cool. That starts in mid June, so hopefully they will get back to me soon. The waiting is not fun. Ugh!
Yes! The deadline for the international applicants was a month before the national deadline (25th March to be exact) lol So I’m guessing no one has a status bar either…Pheeewwww!!
I just went to a portfolio and demo reel workshop at Gnomon School for visual effects in Los Angeles. A disney recruiter was there and said that they have made their selections for their internship program–she said they took 11 artists and 6 programers. So, that’s off the table, now…
hi all
sorry to be a pain, but i searched this thread and could not find an answer to my questions.
i was under the impression that PIXAR require that international student sort their visa alone, rather than help with the application. What is correct? can international student get into internship/residencies with PIXAR and/or Disney?
also, what are the rules with regards to time from graduation? if i graduate in a few months can i have a chance in the winter or have i missed the train altogether?
thanks
Wait, what? But there were six art internship fields and even more programming ones! That seems like a REALLY small number for the amount of internships they posted up…
To be clear I’m referring to Disney’s Summer Associate Program where they take on one or two artists from each field. Like they’ll have one or two modelers, one or two story, one or two viz dev, two or three animators, one or two texture artists and so on. Based on information I was told last year when visiting Disney during Disney Inspire Days, they only take on about 20 or so people in total for the Associate Program. I dunno if there are other internships within Disney than that one that you applied for or not, that take on more people, but all I know is the recruiter I met yesterday said that for the Summer Associate Program they had made their selections.
Hey all,
I’ve been reading your posts for a while now, and I was wondering whether or not any of you have applied for a Laika art internship? If so, did you already hear something back? I got an email in may saying that they would make their final selections by mid may ,but I haven’t heard anything yet. Do you guys know whether or not they send rejectionletters or do they only contact those who get in?
Thank you
Leon

You should email them back asking if a decision has been made.
Thanks, but i already did sent an email to two recruiters asking that.
Don’t think it’s wise to send another email, but maybe I should give them a call.
Is there some kind of internship program for writing or production? Rather than animating or computer aspects.
Thanks
I really want to apply for a pixar summer internship 2013, but not sure when applications open? Does anyone know? Specifically for production or marketing, rather than technological or animation.
They will post it around November I think. Good luck!
Awesome, thanks for the reply!
