I haven’t heard anything either, but again, I’m not even sure my resume is being looked at (which is so disappointing since I’m really proud of it). Thanks for the reassurance, Bucke71, but I think you’d actually have had a better shot when you uploaded your resume for the first time than I will have after merely updating mine. Who knows? Guess I’ll just have to be patient!
And yes, I’ve been compulsively checking my email and this forum for the past few days as well. Though, it did say in the original listing that notification would happen within 4-6 weeks and it has only been 3 and 1/2. Good luck you guys!
@bucke71 Yeah, I have not heard back yet either. If/when I do, I’ll let ya know. Someone also updated my status about 2 weeks ago. Keeping my fingers crossed!
Hello everyone–I was wondering if I already missed the deadline for the summer 2012 internships? I have no idea if Pixar is going to open up any more internships in the next couple of months for the summer positions. I check almost everyday. I saw a Production Internship opening during Oct-Nov but I assumed it was only for the fall term so I didn’t apply. Now I’m convinced I should have… This is my first time applying for an internship at Pixar so I’m a bit nervous.
Thank you for the responses! I just wasn’t sure if Pixar was going to release more internships for summer 2012 or if the deadline already passed. Now I’m just patiently waiting for whenever they open so I can finally apply!
I just got my thread shut down since it wasn’t in the right place…but anyway
If anyone’s applied to the summer internship program, did you send any actual physical pieces of work in, or did you just link to a portfolio? (Or can you include the images in the PDF?) It says not to send in original work be also says:
We encourage you to submit examples of visual work. Such work may include photography, painting, drawing, printmaking or other flat work, or photos of your sewing, sculpture, jewelry or other dimensional work. You may submit a reel of live-action or animated film or video. Instructions for sending material is below.
I mailed in a portfolio and few years ago and landed an interview but I have recently been told by recruiters from Sony Picture Imageworks that its more convenient for them to get a link to a reel for various reason. I believe hat Pixar have somewhere specific on their website for you to upload reels/PDFs.
Thanks Seria. Actually I see that you can upload media separately now.
What I’m concerned about is the fact that you have to submit the online application separately first? Does it go through immediately or after you submit through SlideRoom?
Does anybody know on average how many Editorial or Production interns they take for the summer? I noticed that there wasn’t a Production Intern spot available last summer, is this sort of dependent on their needs or do they typically just not take any for the summer? Any input would be appreciated
I’m a 29 year old animator from the Uk, I’m given a lot of thought to applying to the Pixar animation intern position. I was a student at animation Mentor for 12 months, but I’m yet to finish the course. Am I still eligible to apply for the internship?
If I was lucky enough to get a spot It would mean more than words could describe.
I’ve been busting my back to develop my animation skills for 6 years now and. I really need an Internship to punch my work that extra bit. So I can be the animator I want to be.
