Pixar Planet Movie Night

Oh cool Bryko. I think I may need to talk to you about that

Alright, I vote for TIG

Sorry guys but I vote Cars…

Yes! XD Sorry, you’re talking to a Cars fan here! While watching the Iron Giant seems like fun (being I’ve never seen it before) I’m always gonna support Cars!

LightningAndDoc: That’s another reason it’d be cool to watch TIG. Unlike with pretty much every Pixar film, not everyone here has seen TIG. So it’d be interesting to hear/see the reactions of people who are seeing it for the first time. But if you want to do Cars this week, then that’s your choice.

I agree it would be intresting to watch and hear the movie with those who have’nt seen it in ages… but for me Bryko614, I’d give it a complete miss… as I have never completed a viewing of the movie as I get bored after the first 10 minutes and turn it off. Its one of those movies I’ve tried to watch but I always end it with a Snore!

That’s another problem. I don’t know if I’d wind up liking it! At least with Cars, I already know I do like it!

Haha, I’ll tally the votes later, but I still think it’s going to Cars.

I vote notCars. But if it does end up being Cars I may listen in, or just choose to skip it all together, don’t mind me. If you want The Star Swordsman to join you, you can feel free to make it at a different time than usual.

Woah, so we’re having Cars both for commentaries and Movie Night this weekend? :open_mouth:

I don’t think I can handle this… can you handle this? Huh? Can ya? Can ya?

Hmm, TDIT just pointed out a bit of a peculiar coincidence,… Maybe we should save Cars for another week, that would be a bit strange. It’s up to you guys though, I just want everyone to be happy. What do you guys think? We’ve still got time to redecide (I’m glad I posted the question as early as I did now, this really helps make things easier) if we have to.

If Cars doesn’t go ahead, I vote for WALL-E! As for the time, I’m not exactly what sure what time I’m free this weekend, but I’ll try to let you know.

What are we gonna watch when we run out of Pixar films, though…? If you need any suggestions, Peter and I have thought up quite a few family-friendly fun films!

That’ll be great Rachel, thanks for thinking of that! I imagine we could redo some Pixar films after a while, but I don’t wanna do that for a long time, spread them out really far. I also don’t want to get to the point where everyone’s gonna have to find online copies of the movies. I’m sure we could find a bunch of movies to watch though.

Trust me, Captain Pan… it gets better later on. The beginning is quite slow, but if you stick with it, you’ll get drawn into wanting to finding out what happens next before you know it!

Well, have you guys considered live-action? I’ll just put out a list of popular films I’m interested in rewatching and that I currently own, and see if anyone has copies too. The title with the most number of participants who both have a copy and are interested wins. Of course, anyone else is free to put out their own titles too if you want. I think this is the easiest way (by voting) rather than someone suggests one title at a time:

Live-Action:
Pirates of the Carribean: Curse of the Black Pearl
Pirates of the Carribean: Dead Man’s Chest
Pirates of the Carribean: At World’s End (If anyone is daring enough, we can attempt a Pirates marathon, and anyone is free to drop in and out throughout)
Casino Royale
The Dark Knight

Animation:
Bolt
Happy Feet
Kung Fu Panda
The Brave Little Toaster
The Road to El Dorado

These are all pretty safe bets for the greatest chance of people on this particular forum owning a copy, IMO. Again, you’re free to add your own titles to the ‘pool’ and see which one wins the general consensus.

Or we can always watch Wall-E again. Or Cars. Any-which-way. I don’t mind.

Of course knowing me, Cars for movie night and for commentary back to back is nothing!!! XD Trust me, when the movie first came out on DVD, my brother would play nothing but Cars all day long!!! About 5 times per day! :open_mouth: (Must be the reason I’m such a big Cars fan!) So I can handle the back to back watchings like that.

Oh, and this sounds really pathetic, but I own none of those titles, thedriveintheatre. Doesn’t help we barely have the money to buy DVD’s either.

I don’t have any of those, either. xD Actually, I think I have the Pirates series, but they’re my sister’s, so I’ve only watched them about one time a while ago.

I do have Curse of the Black Pearl and Kung Fu Panda, from the list above.
I know in the end it’s probably going to be Cars anyway, but I’ll throw in a few more suggestions - both animated and live action, maybe for a later movie night:

  • Chicken Run
  • Corpse Bride
  • Indiana Jones and the last Crusade
  • Tron
  • Mary Poppins

Thanks for the suggestions guys! This is gonna start getting a bit more difficult now, I have to take into account what movies people have! It’ll be worth it, don’t worry! I think we’ll stick to a Pixar flick this week so we can keep as many people involved as possible and I can have more time to sort this out.

just curious. how many total people have partiipated in PPMN at least once?

Not me, TSS. This is probably going to be my first time this weekend.

moi! twice or 3 times, can’t remember

When’s next’un?
