I think I’m gonna do it in the afternoon like we did for TI and ABL, Rachel said she wasn’t interested in doing the one for Cars. I just hope TDIT will be able to come if he’s interested, I know he’s got a thing for Cars.
as long as it’s not on Friday, then i will be there
for me to make it will have to be a) later on on a week day (5pm BST/4pm GMT) onwards or b) the weekend
Please be clear of the timing. And I kinda be late this week. Sorry if I just barge in.
That sounds GREAT,i wish i can go , but im just a “kid”(im 14 years old) and i dont know how to speak english correctly yet, so ill just be sitting there withuot sayinhg nothing, pretty lame, i know
You betcha! But I need to know in advance so I can plan ahead, so please post a suggested time ASAP.
We had the TI and ABL times set at 4:30 CST, which puts you at 7:30 a.m. Sunday. We could do that, or find a different time if that won’t work for you.
2:30 in the morning? You might as well sing me a lulaby - I won’t be able to stay up that late. I won’t be able to attend unless it starts at or earlier than 11 PM or later than 5 AM. My body can’t handle any other times.
Mygames: 2:30 in the afternoon for you.
Early Sunday morning for me? Gotta set the alarm and sleep early! Sings POYSC
Well, it’s like…2.30 AM for me!
Can we change the timing plz? Last week’s time is okay.
Hm, Pixar Planet Movie Night… interesting idea (though I don’t use Skype, oh well).
Was just wondering something… if everyone watches their own copy of a movie at home (assuming it’s a DVD on their TV and not on their computer) and everyone’s supposed to start at the exact same time so it’s synced up… is there a difference in the running times as the movie goes on (does it get out of sync after a while) between PAL and NTSC countries? Or is it if you’re playing a local copy of the DVD (made for your tv system) you don’t get that problem?
If you want to try something other than Pixar, there’s always other ideas. I suppose just for fun, you could always have a “Worst of Dreamworks” night, hm? Or even better, perhaps “Re-Dub a Movie Night?” (especially if you can get the script beforehand). Or check out some of the “Worst Movies Ever” list (there was a thread here on PP about it), and watch stuff like that animated “Titanic” movie…
Thanks for the ideas miafka, some of those sound really great! It’s not really gonna turn into anything recorded or stuff like that, but a “bad movie” night certainly could be interesting! Haha!
chef, we might be able to do the same time as last week, but that means TSS couldn’t join in, and us here in the states would have to get up at about 4-6 in the morning. I’ll try to find a timeslot that’s better for you. pushing it later might work, but that puts the guys in the UK (Cap, Simon, Wall-E) into the morning. This is getting difficult! XD We’ll figure something out.
Oh, and another thing miafka, the PAL versions are 4% faster than the NSTC versions, but there’s a program you can use called vgplayer or something like that, Rachel can tell you about it. You’d have to get it on your computer to sync correctly if you have a PAL copy. If you have NSTC, you’re fine.
It will get out of sync, unless you use software like SMPlayer, which allows you to adjust the playback speed, so you can sync a PAL DVD to other people’s NTSC DVD and vice-versa.
By the way, a Blu-ray has (almost) the same speed as a NTSC DVD.
Seeing as this week is Cars, I think I’ll skip it, but have fun y’all!
Yeah, miafka, sometimes, like what happened with Simon-Simon one time, the PAL version runs faster and so whoever is using the PAL version has to keep pausing the movie and then we tell them when to unpause, which can be a bit disruptive. But since we don’t record these movie nights, it’s not that much of a big deal. I like the re-dub a movie night idea! That seems like something Mitch and ffdude would want to do since they were quoting Ratatouille practically all the way through it.
This isn’t exactly my idea since Peter gave me the idea, but we could also watch Ratatoing, Little Cars, What’s Up?: Balloon to the Rescue, as well as other Video Brinquedo classics, lol! I wonder how long we’d actually be able to sit through them…
Hehe, actually, Mitch and I plan on quoting the entire movie as soon as it hits dvd, it’s gonna be SUH-WEET! I had a great time at the Ratatouille one, and DEFINITELY at the Wall•E one, those were probably the best ones so far.
Video Brinquedo eh? err, I’ll have to think about that, haha!
Yeah, the WALL-E one was cool, except for me being zombie-Rachel. D= Oh well.
We should schedule Up for the movie night the weekend after it’s released on DVD. That will be totally schweet!
I agree, but only the U.S. members could join in. That’s quite a bit, but a lot would have to miss out. Also, that weekend, I’m doing the Pixar Marathon again, overnight. We might be able to do it that Saturday afternoon, but I’ve got a b-day party to go to that day as well (turns out my friend’s b-day is Nov. 10th, pretty wicked!)
We’ll figure it out, and I have no problem at all holding 2 Up movie nights, or more! Haha!
That’s no problem. We could just do what we usually do with the commentaries and get Peter to supply a medium-quality NTSC copy of Up to everyone over Skype, if he’s happy to. Well, there’s another couple of months yet so we can sort it out later, I guess.
