You know, I’ve heard so much about that infamous ‘film’ on these boards… I should watch it one day… especially after having seen that cringeworthy ‘Party Time’ scene.
Aw, don’t leave! Don’t you like Cars? Sad face
A most excellent idea, Peter and Rachel! Again, it’s one of those movies I’ve always been curious to watch but never got round to…
miafka: I don’t think the synching is too much of an issue… it’s just a get-together to watch a movie communally, not a commentary. It’d be awesome if you could join an upcoming session!
ffdude1906: Thank for organising the session to fit everyone. Fix a time whenever you’re ready and ASAP. I may be watching an advanced screening of G-Force on Sunday. Or not. But just in case, take it that I’ll not be free this Sunday morning. If that clashes with everyone else, you guys go ahead without me, don’t wanna hold anyone up.
Oh, and I can’t wait for the Up DVD release so we can have a huge partaaay!!!
One thing I want to dispel is I’m a fan of those movies. Rachel, you mentioned the idea of watching bad movies, and so I stated the worst movies I could think of. I was judging a book by its cover, though, because I haven’t seen any of the Video Brinquedo videos, only trailers.
Noticed this from ffdude via Twitter… they’ve been there for about 30 minutes now… (at time of posting)
I’m guessing that’s PPMN for Cars at about…
23.00 CST (use the old Military timing as its getting to the times where we are needing the precision of that to execute these with people)
If I’m right that’s about
07.00 Sunday for the UK
08.00 Sunday for Sweden, France, Germany
15.00 Sunday for Sydney
22.00 Saturday for the West Coast of the US
Although I could be COmpletely wrong as I’m no good at this Time Zone Stuff
EDIT: Wait on that… We’ve just got a face palm moment… ffdude is usually busy on saturday evenings… SO we will now have to await confirmation…
Cool, I hope we can lock this down soon… the weekend is almost upon us! FYI, I’ll be unavailable tomorrow (Saturday) and Sunday morning, but late afternoons and evenings till midnight should be fine with me.
Wow! I Can make 10 PM! Hehehe… (Insert Evil Grin Here)
rachelcakes1985: Watching the Pixar ‘clones’ would be quite an “Adventure!”.
My public library has one of his films, I believe. IDK where anyone else will get copies, it’s not like you can go to a market and find a copy… right? (Not that anyone would want to own a copy. lol )
I just remembered I wouldn’t be able to participate in the movie night if it’s going to be the second weekend in November, which happens to be the weekend after Up is released on DVD in the US. I’m going away interstate so I’d miss out.
I’m kinda wondering if I can make it this Saturday. My dad is to be getting home from Iraq then, and we gotta go pick him up. Can someone please tell me at what time the Cars movie night is to be in New York time? I really don’t wanna miss this, but with my dad coming home . . .
Thanks for keeping this place in the know Cap, I really appreciate it!
Here’s the thing. We have 2 options: 6 a.m. CST, which is what the last movie night was, but that puts Mitch and TSS at 4 a.m., which makes things difficult for them. The other option is 4:30 p.m., which puts TDIT at 6:30 Sunday morning. As long as he’s okay with getting up that early, that’ll work better, except for one thing.
wannabechef91 probably won’t be able to make it. I haven’t noticed him on PP or even twitter lately, so he might be busy, but nevertheless, it’ll be a shame for him to miss out. We’re either gonna have to exclude TSS, or chef. I haven’t heard from TSS if he wants to join this round. Doing 6 a.m. would let me stay and chat though, 4:30 would cut me off right after the movie thanks to my job. chef hasn’t been keeping in touch with me, so I think he might be preoccupied with school stuff.
So there it is. If we do 4:30, I’ll leave the chat open, people generally like to stay and chat with eachother, so that’s no problem. I just need to find out if TSS can come or not, that’s the main thing. I’ll be sure to let you know as soon as I do. Sorry we’re cutting it so close guys! :\
L&D, you’ll be fine either way. NY’s time is 1 hour later than mine, so it’ll be either 7 a.m. or 5:30 p.m. rest easy!
Well, I’d prefer 4:30 pm CST. I haven’t gotten much sleep this week due to school, so I’d like to sleep in on Saturday. If we do start at 6 am CST, I may or may not be joining. It’ll depend on if I can get myself up that early.
I’m fine with waking up early… no guarantees, though, and like I said, I may plan to watch G-Force at 11, so I can’t stick round for the ‘afterparty’…
I have no idea what timezone is ‘CST’, so for my and everyone else who is not in the United States’ convenience, could you post the two timeslots in DateandTime international format, Chris? Thanks!
But based on the 4:30-6:30 conversion, I assume I’m 14 hours ahead of ‘CST’, so that puts me at 8 pm on Saturday night? If I’m correct, that should be fine though, cos’ I’m staying in tomorrow night.
Can TSS or chef get back to us pronto so we can decide a timeslot? Danke!
I actually need it to be at 6:00 CST. We are going to go out to eat when my dad gets back, which isn’t not much after we go to pick him up. So if it has to be at 4:30 CST, I won’t be able to make it. I’d love to make it, but family comes first.
Just to take the confusion out of planning these movie nights, try using timeanddate.com. Then enter in the fixed time, making sure all the fields are correct then you will be given a long list of what time that would be in every major city. It even takes into account daylight savings, so it’s pretty accurate.
