Oh poooop. I didn’t know Disney did it that way. I applied for their character rigging summer internship too. THATS why you had to submit your resume just as text in addition to the optional PDF format. IT MAKES SENSE NOW. Eesh, I hope I have enough of the right keywords then…Not much I can do about it now though I guess since I already submitted it. : P Thats kind of really disappointing though. D:
If you submit Linkedin most companies look it like a customized resume because it can’t be ran through a system. If you have a Resume some companies will send it through a keywords system so that they can weed out people automatically. I think it is sad they do that because then you are limiting things. So like if you don’t have exact degree or amount of words ou are SOL.
What’s up? I’m really sleepy =u=… but I just wanted to know what kind of art all ya’ll are into Also what major is everyone?? O.O
Ah such as, I’m currently a computer animation major! Also I really wanted to say this somewhere but~ I don’t think I’m going to get into the second round xD I don’t know man…that was my first interview ever.
Aww… don’t think that just because it was your first interview! You applied for PUP right? They specifically want young people and one of the side effects of wanting younger students is having applicants that have never had an interview in their life. Or even a real job, for that matter. I’m sure you did fine and I’m sure your work speaks a lot for you. As long as you were able to answer technical questions and had your personality peek through I’d say you have a chance!
Hey sleepy face! I am a Commercial Photography graduate. I am planning on starting a Marketing Masters in the Fall. So they are still doing Pup? Did you recently get an interview? I think they only have done the first set of interviews. Who knows. I am mostly known in my area for my Concert Photography. I used to help bands market them and learned how to use social networking, css, html, little bit of java, and was starting to learn how to create cell phone apps for bands. I even did logo design. So I realize I am a mix of it all.
What got you into computer animation? I was wanting to go into from high school, I took classes in high school, but my mother didn’t want to pay for an art college. I went to a 4 year accredited college in stead.
This is my work below of photography. I still do it but more as personal work. facebook.com/studiosna
I saw them when I was really little when my parents took me to Alaska. That is a good goal to have! You will not be disappointed when you see them! It makes you appreciate the planet you live on.
I want to see them before I paint them. A friend told me of a legend, in which if you whistle to them, they come down from the heavens and dance with you. I have so many ideas for it, but I want to see them first to get that final burst of inspiration
If you ever get a chance and you want a place that will give you a homely feel but enjoy the view… Juneau, Alaska. They have wonderful fish fry and if you go out on a boat you can get a beautiful view of it reflecting on to the water. The town is like small Blue Ridge but has a native art work on the buildings… I forget which city has canals with arch bridges that leads to jewelry and stone crafters with waterways below you going to the ocean. The air tastes sweet too because its little air pollution.
That place will complete the magic and have good places to view it. We used to travel a lot when I was kid. Trust me it is magical! I would love to see the painting when ever you get to see it. I recommend going in the summer when you just need a wind breaker.
Having absolutely no word on my applications is what is getting me through the month left of school (at least for my classes) Because I know that I probably won’t hear anything about my applications until May.
Hello! I found this forum and decided I would join the waiting! I applied for the Art internship, my application was submitted one day before the deadline. I’m from Costa Rica, so maybe that already lowers my chances a lot :/… Any other international applicants here?
Since people were sharing their demo reels, here is my portfolio. I submitted a flatwork version which had much less work but I made sure to include only my most recent material.
Good luck everyone!
@angipauly Great work! I wish I good do that! I applied for public relations, marketing, and postproduction but I would totally apply for the art or animation if I could. Well, I guess I could… but I mean if I actually had a chance.
Being international doesn’t hurt you as long as you have your work visa all ready to go. And I agree, your work is incredible! I wouldn’t even worry about it
