@LittleTomo: I think you’re right about MKT opening up next week at the earliest, my app submitted late March has not been updated since date of submission…getting anxious since I have other deadline offers.

I am just thinking about time lines as to how they are having to go through applicants. I mean they have a lot of people to go through and with them finally finishing PUP it is hard for them to get through everyone so quickly. I would think by mid march they will get through people. I mean they have to call people up set up an interview. Call back and then choose then move to the next section. They have different paramaters for each and they are looking for things in the people. They might be also having a harder time with picking people.
As someone said on here that the schools get out later there than East Coast. So they might do a close call on this. I mean this is a lot of work for each department and with 8 departments with a lot of applicants you have think about the time and work. They have to work with department heads. Pup got rejection letters up to 3am… even with time zone differences that shows they are coming in late. I suspect they will get to marketing soon but not yet. We know they didn’t call other departments because we didn’t get rejection letters. So its all good news for everyone in other departments.

Hi guys! Still no update on the submission page(if that is even an accurate way of telling whether they have even gotten around to it yet) but let’s all take a moment to do a happy dance. Today was the last day of the semester for me! ^.^

This wait is making me nervous…
I’ve been following this thread for a couple of weeks now…thought it about time to join the pool…thanks for all the updates and information so far!..I applied for the Post-Production internship and my application hasn’t updated (if that really is any indication).
For pup it wasn’t much of an indicator. I don’t know what it means if it means anything. I know Public Relations closed before Matketing and if its any indications they might be going in order of closing. They seem to be calling over email then interview. It’s call to set up, then interview, then acceptance comes a bit later after that or rejection.
yeah…considering that it is a three step process, not a one call and hire you thing…or something similar…I would say all these departments will start rolling fast…school semester end dates or no, they have too many steps between calling and hiring to take much longer than a week or two…otherwise they would literally be confirming within a week or two of start date…
They took Pup from the first week of April all the way till the 23rd, rejection letters sent on that last day. I think from the 22nd on ward is Public Relations then Marketing closely following. We don’t know how many people applied if they pulled specific resumes or not. No one on here has heard a call back. Not to say that any of us will or not but there might be a few people well qualified on here. Plus I did a search to see if I could find any other people talking about the internships for this year and this mainly is it besides a person on New Grounds going for the art department.
They might take it up till the end of May. I know they have a lot of Department but with how long they took on Pup I wouldn’t doubt it right now. It depends on the work load and how often they can pull the department heads who are allowing interns to be pulled away to help with what they need.
Kev got a call on the second week of April with a schedule of an interview then the interview the same week. He didn’t get a call till the 19th of April that he was accepted into Pixar’s PUP. That is almost or exactly a week after his interview that he had gotten. So That being said I don’t know how often they looked at these things in between. Monsters University is coming out on May 29th. So I am guessing they will wrap it up before the big event knowing they celebrate there at their studio like they have done for other movies.
I am guessing most of this but they seem to be working over time when they can to get some of this done. I don’t know what is the best indicator of if you might get a call or not. I know with Art, Animation, and a few other departments they have to review the people’s work. Where as with Public Relations, Marketing, and few other departments they have look through resumes. I doubt that it is run through a machine because they ask for pdf. Also they are looking for creative talent who will help see there vision through. It’s not all technical but being technical does help with the use of helping their product along.
Another good place to check if people have gotten interviews for various internships are Twitter/Facebook. I’ve been searching “pixar interview” in twitter and FB public posts to see if people are posting about getting interviews. Recently Twitter has been saturated w/ non-internship related posts, but irregardless for the past few weeks the only thing I could find was someone who had a PUP interview…
projecthurley: Yea… I just think the time thing is up in the air as far as when they will get back to us. There are a fair enough people where one or two of us should hear back from one of the up coming departments. Two people applied for both Marketing and Public Relations. So some where along the lines we will know.
I am wondering just how they look at everything because I hope they look at my resume. I really put a lot of effort into making it stand out and show my personality.
DarkJester/anyone applying to post production internship… when did you guys submit your apps?
I submitted mine on april 12th…I wanted to get it in much earlier but I was having some email exchanges with a contact in the storyboard department there…I was hoping it’d lead to a contact in the editorial department…but sadly it didn’t so I finally sent mine in…kind of last minute really…
I submitted my resume very early for my internship… I submitted March 6th for Marketing. I noticed these internships were not open for several months… Art opened a bit later in March and so did the others when I went back to check. I don’t know if submitting early or late helps or hurts.
