Pixar summer internship 2013

Hm… that is interesting… My best guess is also us getting shuffled around in groups and tagged with numbers just to speed up the process. I also could have sworn I applied for the Art internship but it doesn’t have Art in the title so… huh! v :astonished: v I did the online applications back in February so maybe my mind just slipped. But I certainly hope it went into Art instead, haha!

I applied (or at least I thought I did) to the animation internship, but mine has art in the title. So, I’m not sure either. Maybe they just put them in randomly, or I could be in the same boat as you! Haha

I hope they don’t drag us along for too long. If we are rejected I hope they would tell us sooner than later. BUT I suppose if we are actually still in the running I wish they would send us an email saying so. Because at some point we have to wonder, how late do they go accepting people? It can’t get too close to June.

aw thanks. it was on the disneycareers page, where you can track your application : )

Where does it say that? I log in and it only says applied on the position I applied for.

Maybe the Art in the title means that it’s animation, and so I actually got rejected from the animation internship? Very possible. Very counter intuitive, but very possible. Oh well. I guess I’ll call myself out of the game, then, there wasn’t a whole lot of chance to start with, and now there’s even less. It’s been fun, guys.

Well I guess this week we’ll find out, right? Don’t count yourself out yet. Have any examples of your work?

Here’s the reel that I submitted for the Chicago recruiting trip that Pixar did in March. I got to sit down with Aaron Hartline for about 20 minutes and got a great critique. They are SUPER nice people and incredibly gracious with their time and knowledge! I’m not sure if that trip was specifically for the internship, but apparently they put me into the running for it, because I didn’t even apply!

O.o how are you doing this black magic??! I applied directly through disney animation’s website

That was a really good reel. We dont offer 3d until senior year at our school, so just went in for their concept art dept, I guess. It’s not really their style, but still good to try.

@samohrama and @emne, my profile also says “Art.” So it looks like animation gets lumped into that category. I’m still waiting to hear something, and my profile hasn’t been updated since last month.

This is going to be a looooong week. Also it’s odd that they would lump animation with the art department

anyone else applied in Post Production hear back w/ anything yet?

The Dashboard is only for Professional Internships. The Animation website doesn’t have the app tracking stuff anymore…

@rl290 I applied for post production but haven’t heard anything :frowning:

Dude sharp portfolio! I wish you had at least one more type of character design in there but it all looks pretty awesome, especially what I’m guessing is self-portrait? Nice. Rendrman your reel looks really on point as well.

Thank you, I just wanted to show progression from concept to finalized work with the character, but I agree that it’s a weak point. Something to work on for next year

Suddenly all my hopes and dreams have been simultaneously crushed… I wish I had more character art to offer that wasn’t really old and bad… ;-; i.e. Your portfolio is amazing, and I only wish my work were as diverse with that level of quality. Good luck! c=

On a side note, does anyone know if they even accept porfolios that were posted to arrive the Saturday of the deadline, but weren’t delivered till Monday because nobody was there to pick up the package on Saturday? Just curious if my hopes were founded to begin with. Lol.

Any word yet guys

Nothing yet…checking my profile and email like a crazy person.
