Hey guys! Just joined Pixar Planet after I found this thread during a google search!
I sent in my Art internship application a few weeks back. Still no news, but I’m occupying my mind with art projects 
I was only rattled with anxiety after I read your guys’ comments - whew! We all need to take a deep breath together, hah!
Just wondering - how do you guys log into the Pixar site to check if your application has been viewed?

I don’t they have started calling back other departments yet. Your department closed on the 6th the internship. As for call backs right now it looks like only Pup are getting calls and interviews. I’m here for marketing with 2 or 3 others. There is a Editorial, another art, and post production I think. Kev got a call to tell about an interview with comfirmation interview. Then he got an interview a few days later. He says that if its updated later than when submitted then its looked at it. His was updated right as he was called.

I’m still here… just waiting. Does anyone know if they have accepted the PUP people yet? I know they were having interviews, I don’t know how long those go for.
I don’t know how many people are they are going through. I’m still nervously waiting on the marketing end. Btw just saw the poster for Planes at work! Two movies out this year! Monsters University is around the corner of May.

Yeah I’ve applied for marketing, public relations, and post production and my status has not been updated for any of them. I have a feeling we won’t hear anything until May since these internships due dates were much later than the others.
I feel like they would only take a week to contact everyone back for interviews, so today could be the last day. However, we only of know one person that got an interview, so they could be taking longer. Or everyone that got interviews don’t know about this forum. I’ve tried checking the Pixar tag on tumblr, but no one’s posted anything in there either. I could be completely wrong, but I’m getting very nervous.

You are probably correct. I don’t know. I’m still hoping. Either way. I just like hearing that people are getting chances and hearing back. That’s a lot of departments!
I can’t see them waiting until May to schedule interviews. Regardless of how much someone wants the internship at Pixar, I’m not sure how many people are willing to turn down all other opportunities they may have for the summer just to bank on this coming through. I could be wrong though.
Yeah. I’m only a sophomore so that was the only internship that seemed suitable lol
I’ve looked at past forums from last year and the year before and people were notified if they got accepted or not by the beginning of May and even getting interviews but all within I think the first week of May. Most internships you can accept but then call back and say you got another oppurtunity that you are going to pursue such as if they got accepted into Pixar. People realize that most of the time you are applying for multiple internships and just like jobs, you don’t hear back from everyone all the same day.
You could be right. I didn’t apply last year, but if I remember correctly the deadlines were also later last year.
I wouldn’t feel comfortable backing out of a commitment this late in the game. It really puts a possible future employer in a tough spot, and it also runs the applicant the risk of getting blacklisted.
I completely understand. Especially for those who are animators. There are not quite as many positions, I feel like. I’m pursuing producing and though competitive, I feel like there are more choices.
I wouldn’t think they would wait till may since ticket prices for air fare shoot up. Maybe up till the first week. I saw someone post for the department they picked 8-12 people when they asked on their interview last year. On the FAQs it says up to 60-80 ppl over the summer are picked. There are up to, from what I counted, 8 departments that had openings. It says it varies by department due to what they can handle. I am praying this month so I can make early arrangements with my pets… One is special needs.
Tickets prices go up the closer to the date they need to be out there. As some forums say they cover ticket so that is a cost they have to consider. They will be contacting departments but by bit. I don’t know about last year but this year almost all were open. This leads me to believe it might be a close call.
