Hey UpUpAway! I also applied for the sound internship about a week ago, I don’t think there is any housing provided since it’s not a residency, just an internship.
Hi there!
I don’t live in the United States, is there anyone here that applied without being american? What did you put in the “Work Authorization” section?
I applied to 3 internships but I’m most interested in the Production Internship. With my applications, it says that my last update was on 3/18/16… But I haven’t heard anything at all back - rejection or otherwise. I’ve been reading through the comments and the “updates” have been occasionally thrown around, so I’m wondering if it means anything that it was last updated on the 18th but I haven’t heard anything yet? I’m hoping it’s good news??
I wish I would have found this forum a few months ago. I applied for the Art Internship this summer, and I am super worried I am not going to get it. Most especially because I am about to graduate, and this may be my only chance for an internship through Pixar since they only accept undergrads and recent graduates. I hear they do Fall/Winter internships, but I have no idea if the Art one is usually included.
So far, I haven’t gotten an email so I am assuming they are still looking through applications for the department.
@anagarcia I don’t live in United state too, I’m french and i fill the form with a teacher who handles the international internship in my school and for the work permissions I put “Require a sponsorship” onher advices i don’t know if i help …
Hey ana! I’m not from the states either. I checked with some friends who have done internships there and they said to put down “I require work sponsorship”.
I applied for Art Internship. Still waiting for response. My status wasn’t updated since I applied and the date of application is last year application, though I do receive confirmation letter. Strange, but, hope, it is just website bug.
Just wanted to start off by saying how amazing this is and along with all of you guys!!! (=
Well This is my first time applying to the Pixar Production internship, I’m just so curious how this whole process works its literally exciting but anxious at the same time. Currently I just interviewed with two studios for a summer internship and They say they’ll contact me in like a week or two. Although I’m so grateful for every thing that’s happening to me the one I’ve been really focused since the internship opened has been Pixar. Right now I don’t know what to do because I haven’t heard from Pixar at al!!!l I’m just wondering when they will let us know something and if it’ll be sometime soon like in a week or 2? I want to contact a recruiter, but idk yet. Also once you get passed from an interview with them how are the next steps or what happens? Also Sorry for all the questions I’m just so curious!!! Thank you so much, I really appreciate it!!
Usually they start sending out rejection letters and initial interview letters 4 to 8 weeks after deadline. Meaning that we just started week 4, so we’re not that far from receiving news.
Best is to be calm, if you contact a recruiter they will probably tell you what I just did. From other people posting their experience, if you pass the first round you’ll be interviewed by someone just to verify you exist and ask you basic questions.
Then there’s interviews with recruiters and people from the department you are applying to, I don’t know how many of those are.
Does any of you know anything about phone-interview?
I am curios about what kind of questions do they ask. And also do they inform you before call? Since I am from other part of the worls with different time zone.
Thanks!
I don’t know about Pixar, but my experience with other employers is this:
If they don’t give you a time frame for a call, and you miss it, they will leave a voicemail with a) when a good time to contact them is, or b) instructions to call them back and tell them when is good for you.
Otherwise they usually give you notice of when they should be calling you.
I imagine with Pixar, they would give you some notice so they don’t have to waste resources on calling people until they finally get in contact.
I just completed a second round interview for PUP. They’re interviewing this week and next week so decisions will probably start coming out 3rd-4th week of April.
For those asking about the interview process: if interviewed, you’ll receive an email offering a time - you can accept or offer an alternate time. I received my email the night before the offered time. The first interview was with a recruiter and very brief (10-15min). It consisted of basic getting to know you questions and broad questions about your reel along with the recruiter explaining the internship. They’re extremely friendly so if you have an interview and are nervous, relax!, it’ll be fun. The first interview ended with tentative scheduling of the second interview, which was confirmed a few days later (the evening before the interview). The second interview involved the recruiter and maybe 7-8 technical directors from all areas – staging, rendering, set dressing etc. etc. It was slightly longer (~20min) and had more questions about my reel, though questions remained open-ended (what was your favorite ____? What was the most difficult ____? Would you be interested in ____? etc.). After that, I believe it’s just waiting for the verdict.
