Wow! Y’all can’t stop talking can you?! I just joined and it’s like y’all have gone through a dozen different conversations since I left lol!
I’m reading a good series right now. I’m not in a summer reading program so I read what ever I want. The series is called Dragons In Our Midst by Bryan Davis. But before you read the first book in the series you need to read The Eye Of The Oracle, then read the first book in the Dragons In Our Midst series. They’re really really good!
I sing, and I’m learning guitar. I entered a talent show thinks about a month and a half ago. My younger sister filmed me singing, and it’s on YouTube. Here’s a link to the video.- YouTube I sang Wish You Well by Thousand Foot Krutch. Have any of you heard or listened to them?
Thanks for the sweet welcome y’all!
P.S Sorry my post is so delayed. I don’t have a computer of my own and my parents would be angry if I stayed up to late.
All of you are posting things you’ve made, so I suppose I’ll add my prime creations:
-Imagine
-Food Fun
-Sparky
Food Fun isn’t my best (it was my first short, 2 years ago); Imagine and the Sparky video are a little better, even though I made them last year. I created all of Imagine from scratch (with plenty of help from my siblings and our parents), including the animation, materials, rendering, music, and just about everything else (with the exception of some of Imagine’s sound effects); I created all of the graphics for the other two, only I didn’t create Food Fun’s music. I’ll have some better videos coming along soon.
I hope you all enjoy it! (and I hope I haven’t blown my own horn too much ).
[EDIT]- By the way, it’s probably better not to watch the YouTube videos in full screen, because it makes the quality go down (The quality is good in my full DVD version, but on YouTube the quality went down).
Jessie, Chapter 5 is great! And another cliffhanger
You got me hyped all right,[spoil] and I could have never imagined what a pregnant car would look like! And how would they give birth? Random and disgusting, I know, but just curious. And I liked how you kept repeating lines from the movie too. [/spoil]
Two errors:
Barley is spelled Barely
You used “opened” twice together. “The examination room doors opened opened”.
They’re only minor though, and the rest of the chapter was well-written. I want more, I’m real excited!
Sorry that I’m not replying that much. I’m busy. D:
Snipe, I’ll keep writing forever. Until I have nothing else. I’m going to watch your videos right now. Sorry it’s late but I’m doing a billion things at once.
Jessie, completely understand. I feel like I’m doing a hundred things right now too.
You’veGotAFriendInMe, that would be my dream career, and although I believe I could easily become an animator there, it probably won’t be what I do. The way I look at it, whatever you do in life, you want to be able to look back and be proud of it at the end; so I’m going to become a pastor instead. But yes, there was a time very recently where I was aiming to work at Pixar.
By the way, do you mind if I call you by you’re really name? Copying “You’veGotAFriendInMe” every time is getting a little frustrating.
Boy, I was hoping someone would ask! Here’s the basics:
We use a program called 3ds Max, which is a computer animation software that basically works off of mathematics and geometry, using faces, edges and vertices, along with the Cartesian Coordinate System using numbers for placement and animation. That is how we do most of the animation.
As for the live-action filming/animation compositing, we used the standard method: green screens. Only we don’t have a green screen, so I just had to hang up a red sheet and film it from there. We used Adobe After Effects to composite the videos, which we did by using a color key that takes out a certain colors (in this case, red, which is why nobody’s wearing red or anything). The lighting was very important for the color key, and I probably spent more time re-filming scenes to get the proper effect than I did anything else.
The whole process is still very complicated, and I owe a good portion of what I know to Pixar, due to the fact that most of my methods were derived from Pixar’s documetaries.
Here is a screenshot of the user interface of 3ds Max, while I’m working on my current project (an octopus).
Twitch: Can’t wait to read fanfictions! Have fun!
P.S.- Sorry I’ve been out so long… for some reason between 6:30 and 7:35 my the website is inaccessible to me, so I probably won’t be around at that time.
Lol, should I even try to keep up with the conversations that happen when I’m gone? I come back after a day, and there’s like three new pages of posts!
pixarfan9099, that’s the Toy Story 4 one, right? I just started reading that a few minutes ago, and it’s awesome so far. I can’t promise that I’ll finish it today though, sorry! I’m not done with jessie’s yet, because I only read one chapter so far. It’s hard because I only have like an hour of internet time everyday!
Snipe: I actually use 3ds Max sometimes! But not for animation, that’s looks insanely hard and painstaking to do! I like to make motion graphics, so I use it to make 3D titles and stuff that I integrate into After Effects. Oh yeah, I tried learning how to do matchmoving with Syntheyes, which is basically 3D motion tracking and then using the tracking data to composite 3D stuff onto live footage, but that’s also insanely hard, and my brain just about exploded.
I’ve mostly learned everything I know from this great website (it’s mostly After Effects stuff, but there’s some really great 3D tutorials as well): http://videocopilot.net/
Hey guys. Sorry I’m late, I pulled a double shift at work today. It was killer, I’m so tired…
jessie, I read the newest chapter of your fancic, left a review on that thread. (Same for you pixarfan9099) Needless to say, I liked it I also really liked your cover of Fireflies, I’m jealous of your talent on the guitar.
You’veGotAFriendInMe, you’re a really good singer! I wish I was bold enough to sing in front of a crowd. I admire your courage. I was more outgoing when I was little, now, not so much.
