I’ve witnessed my own fair share of tornadoes, living smack dab in Tornado Alley. The scariest one I’ve ever encountered so far though occurred about two years ago… the tornado came extremely close to actually hitting us, much of the damage was just right outside of our neighborhood and the worse stuff was not very much farther off. We could like actually hear the wind whistling through our house, and my brother saw huge amounts of dust being kicked up just down the street. And… I was at home alone babysitting all my sibs when it hit. Pretty scary. But we all made it through safely.
Yes! I love that too, one of my favorite parts of spring/summer storms.
Hahaha! Wouldn’t that be hilarious. And I was going to say how totally awesome it must be to live around where the shuttles launch and land, but considering what you said, I guess there are a number of cons to it.
Probably, but the idea of Florida breaking off due to earthquakes is so utterly implausible that I doubt it would ever actually happen. If it did, I’d be pretty worried for anyone’s safety. That’d have to be one catastrophic event.
Lol, there are a number of cons but the pros outweigh it. I can see the launches from my balcony. The sunrise launches are the absolutely best, it’s beautiful. <3
It would cause a tsunami seeing as how we’re pratically sea level. Ehh, we’d probably just hook onto Cuba or Jamaica or something. Does anyone remember when people were freaked out about California breaking off from the US because of the plate tectonics and the constant earthquakes?
Oh. I have a radio station in my area that plays nonstop Christmas music from the day before Christmas Eve till midnight on the day after Christmas. Sometimes, the songs do get annoying and repetitive but it’s only once a year so might as well enjoy it. I love “Last Christmas”, “Wonderful Christmastime”, “Little Drummer Boy”, “Believe”, and like all of Trans-Siberian Orchestra. Has anyone ever seen their concert? It’s amazing. <3
… the New Madrid fault? there was an earthquake in Missouri in the 1800’s (?) that rang church bells in Philadelphia and parts of Canada felt it, it also made the Mississippi run backwards for like a month and created a lake in Kentucky, we learned about it in the 8th grade when there was a small tremor in the middle of the night that woke a bunch of people up, most of us didn’t know we lived on a fault line… especally one that’s that big… but i don’t think that fault line runs through Florida, so their safe (in that respect, at least…)
… i have like 4 Christmas songs i listen to all year long…
