Heh, yea I kinda figured that. I actually appreciate it though, since I prefer first time viewers to do that…
I may not be as proud of those older ones, but it’s satisfying to see how much I’ve improved…
I seem to have a knack for aging characters (or making them younger). I can visualize it in my head and put in on paper close to exactly how I want it.
Another score for expressions! So glad I’m getting the hang of this…<img src=“{SMILIES_PATH}/grinandwink.gif” alt=“;-D” title="Grin and
Suprisingly, this coloring job took a little longer than I planned but it was well worth it. I’m guessing it’s the fact that coloring multiple characters was a bigger job than I thought.
It’s not completely done yet but I will tease you with a bit of a preview:
Violet and my OC Twista…
I’d say I’m about 95% done with this one, that Dash/Jack-Jack pic should be a knockout after this one…
If you got me this excited for a preview, imagine how excited I’m going to get when I see the finished product. I can not wait!. You did a supurb job coloring. Keep up the great work.
Just curious, is there a particular reason why they aren’t wearing masks?
I will say first and foremost that this looks a lot better a few 100 pixels bigger but this’ll do for now. (EDIT: I uploaded a slightly bigger version, if you right-click the image, or double click it depending on the internet program, you should be able to see the bigger version.)
I kinda answered the no mask question in my last post so…
I didn’t include Jack-Jack in this pic because this is when the team first got together, he’s only about 5 in this time frame, on top of the fact that I had this idea drawn up since last year. Maybe next time though.
Definitely proud of this one, and I’ll make sure I continue to get better at this…<img src=“{SMILIES_PATH}/grinandwink.gif” alt=“;-D” title="Grin and
Did I tell ya I was going to get excited? Well, you have got me bouncing out of my seat right now. Hooly cow that looks so amzing. It looks like the next generation of Metroville’s league of Super Heroes. They all look really super, and marvelously drawn. Excellent work.
It might be just me, but Dash crouching down kinda reminds me of Toad from the X-men. I mean, it is kind of a similar stance.
For some odd reason, I don’t recall seeing Violet’s little orb/force field things around her hands on dA. Maybe it was just me… I’ll go back and check.
My only complaint for this picture would be that Dash crouching on the ground as opposed to the rest of them standing up kind of throws off the composition. But not entirely! I like how you faded the logo in the background, it looks really nice. You also do an excellent job digitally coloring and shading your work. All the shadows and such appear to be in all the right places, and it looks really fantastic!
Now, you know I’m not a big fan of Incredibles (I have probably already made that clear on several instances )… but this looks absolutely wonderful! As always (and I feel like a broken record in saying this but I truly mean it!) keep up all of your awesome work, Pixfan!
little chef: Thanx! And I will agree, you’ve made some pretty good points.
As for Violet, I figured her force field capabilities were pretty versatile, so I decided to only put the orbs around her hands as opposed to the popular concept of around her entire body. Guess it was just preference at the time.
About Dash, yea I definitely agree now that I sit back and really think about it. But all in all I kinda just went with the flow on this one. Like I said, I had the concept of this one in my head (and poorly drawn out) since last year. In a rush to just get this finally put together , I decided not to change anything from the original design. I will take that into consideration for next time though.
And thanx! I’ve been really trying to work on and experiment with my coloring techniques, and it looks like I’m finally catching on!
Haha, yea you and plenty others. It’s just that right now I’ve been on this Super’s phase, and I’m finally liking what I’m seeing. I got a few more Incredibles related works to get outta my system, but I’ll be shaking things up again real soon…
Ooh… nice, I like the shading! Was this coloured digitally? Using what tool (Wacom or mouse) and program (Photoshop, GIMP)?
I wonder what Jack-Jack’s wishing for… I like how you do the Incredibles all ‘growned’-up!
Gotta apologize for the lateness of my reply folkz, explained my story in the I’m Back thread if you care…
Anyway thanx people! Loving the support!!
thedriveintheatre: Thanx! Colored digitally? Yes. I recently switched over to a Wacom tablet, and loving the results! I’ll leave his wish up to you…
wannabechef91: Thanx! Trust me it’s not impossible (check out my WAY earlier work and you’ll see what I mean…)
CMB: Thanx! And I’ll see what I can do…
Haunt: Thanx! Nice to know someone’s as proud of me as I am!..
Since I’m here I might as well post something,
This was just a little something I put together to keep me challenged…
THIS WAS A REQUEST…
Though stepping out the comfort zone is not really my thing, I enjoyed taking on the challenge…I repeat, THIS WAS A REQUEST. (So don’t ask me any questions regarding the motive behind this…0_o
Yep, Looks like I’ve managed to lapse again…Pretty much the same ol story (school, work…etc.)
But like I’ve constantly explained I’m in the middle of a quest for a new comp (I declared my old one RIP since it’s a little over 5 years old already, and it was only a matter of time before something happened… )
In the meantime I’ve managed to float around using my sister’s laptop, and finally got the chance to get some art going (after installing Photoshop again, scanning pics, etc.)…
Just in time for the Pixar Planet dA ID contest:
Pretty pleased with this one, considering I put this whole thing together in about 5 days…
*This definitely looks a LOT more in-depth in a bigger size…check it out on dA (the size is way bigger)…
The tied-up Dash picture is amazing, Pixfan! The lineart, the shading, the expression on his face- I can’t fault it! To see an artist progress so well is great, and I look forward to seeing even more of your artwork.
