For those who have followed all of the fan art I’ve put up herre so far should remember my Incredibles OC; Blaze.
That long hiatus wasn’t for nothing, as I’ve picked up a couple books throughout that time, and worked on the skills that needed some fine tuning. I think I’ve got a definite design about him now so here he is:
To sum it up, an older Dash and Jack-jack get into a tug war over some valuable homework.
Looks like he’ll have a “new one” for teacher tomorrow…I can even imagine it…
Teacher: Dash, where’s your homework?
Dash: My brother BURNED IT…
Once again this thing was done in literally like 3 DAYS. I like the way Jack-Jack turned out more so than Dash did but hey, whatcha gonna do?..GET BETTER…
Pixfan - It’s nice to see that you’re back in action again!
On the subject of the Blaze artwork: Those are freakin’ awesome, dude. I especially love the pose you positioned Blade into in the bottom right-hand corner of the paper. Very cool.
On your Pixar Planet dA submission: I voted for yours, dude. As is the norm, it looks great. I love it. My only suggestion would be to have, perhpas, added a horizon line or base so it doesn’t look as if the characters are “floating in space”, so to speak. Other than that, it looks fine.
Thanx for voting for me!
Looks like I’ve got some 'xplainin to do…
Yea, the lacking of a horizon line is again, the result of a rushed project, (hence the missing background as well). It’s all good though despite the circumstances…thanx for the critique!
Super Power: Amazing ability to manipulate wind/air
(even to the point where he can create tornadoes, hence the “super name”)
Costume: He prefers shirtless (much “breezier”) and a pair of fleecy pants. Also a pair of “Bare Feet” custom shoes , very light, perfect for flying.
Strengths: Very fast, his “ability” is naturally powerful.
Weaknesses: Not as strong as he would like himself to be, grew up in a villan centered society, so he has somewhat of a “villan turned hero” mentality.
Misc: Like Mr. I and Frozone, he and Blaze are best buds.
Yet again, you have created another cool character, Pixfan! I like Mr. Thomas’ backround history/weaknesses and his super power. The only critique I would give is that his feet (in the bottom right-hand corner) look rather lop-sided and “off-center” to me. Perhaps if you had twisted his left foot a little more to the right it would have looked slightly more natural? Just a thought…
Yes I did notice that flaw, AFTER I shaded it. I didn’t feel like doing it over so I left it that way (especially after I tried sketching that pose a couple times already).
Footwear I another thing I’m working on (as you can see) so bare with me.
The next OC will make up for this though…
Pixfan - You are most welcome for the comments and critique!
Oh yes, my eyes are like living binoculars, man. Don’t feel too bad, though. Human anatomy, in general, is quite difficult to emulate, especially when it comes to feet and hands. Judging by the compositions you poured out, however, it’s obvious that you’re doing pretty good as far as sketching people go!
I won’t be too hard on myself, seeing the fact that I’m trying to almost drastically improve in a short amount of time (less than a year). So I’m doing my best with what I’ve got…!
Yeah, it does take alot longer to improve than you think, but I suppose that it all depends on the individual. For one person, their drawing style might significantly improve in a short duration, and for others…it might be the direct opposite. It’s bizarre, man… (snigger)
Super Power: No natural super power but he uses his “mischief” to make a fool out of his enemies.
Costume: A martial arts/ninja type of wardrobe, a “Mr. Mischief” medallion he wears to help create illusions/hypnotize, rolled up pants, and simply “wraps” around his legs with additional “soles” for grip and support. Last but not least his joker hat (he likes headgear).
Strengths: Extremely strong for his size (5’5"), ninja-like agility and balance, cunning fight strategies…
Weaknesses: Young (inexperienced), a little on the short size, can be really goofy and reckless when handling serious situations…
Misc: Became good friends with Blaze and Twista after joining the team
I had a lotta fun creating this guy, he’s making his way toward being the favorite outta the three…
Ah, those are really cool character sketches. Comic looks like a really cool super. I thought his powers would be super speed, and super speed only because comets look like they can travel fast, but comets can be forceful too. Really really nice pixfan.
I appreciate the compliments StarSwordsman but I gotta clear one thing up with ya.
His super name is “Comic” as in comedian or joker (hence his headgear). He defeats his enemies by pulling pranks on them or just simply making them look like a fool. His tactic could be something as silly as tickling his biggest opponents into submission, and when he tickles you, EVERYONE’S ticklish.
Looks like ya got two similar sounding words mixed up there…
Woah…this is even worse that my Non-Pixar Art thread (over 6 months since last post)…man I’ve got to work on my updating skillz …
BUT, just because I haven’t been updating here definitely doesn’t mean that I have stopped drawing…cuz I HAVEN’T
…uh, I guess I’ll pick up kinda where I left off…
Okay, you see these last few posts I’ve made regarding the Incredibles OC’s I created? Well I’ve done some MAJOR develpment on these charaters…storyline’s pretty much the same, but a little more depth to it. Their upcoming into the Incredibles’ world is set around 5-7 years after the movie.
(So their generation is tied around Vi and Dash’s time, close age ranges)
By now this generation has decided to take on the name “Team Incredible”
Creating a name for themselves yet carrying on tradition at the same time…
The team includes all 3 of me TI OC’s along with Vi, Dash and Jack-Jack (all of course older)
So my next few picks will show the new and improved versions of my OC’s and hopefully sometime down the line a group pic of the all new “Team Incredible”.
