hi everyone, and yes how u listened, the truck is finally found, but first check this out:
Given that Brad was something of an outsider when he first arrived in Emeryville, he didn’t automatically buy into all of Pixar’s oddball traditions. Which is why – when it came time to insert that obligatory Pizza Planet truck cameo into his picture – Bird made it part of the Parrs’ high speed return to the city aboard that badly battered RV . Which is why all you really get to see of the Pizza Planet truck in “The Incredibles” is a pale blur.
guys, that’s the reason and the little proves that unfortunately are
I’m sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but I have gotten confirmation from a Brain Trust member that the Pizza Planet Truck is NOT in The Incredibles.
I did send him a suggestion to add it into the Blu-ray, like they added the toque on Remy in Ratatouille. But yeah, for now, there is NO Pizza Planet truck in TI, in every other Pixar movie, Up and Toy Story 3 included, yes, but not The Incredibles.
I really thought the truck would be there, but the fact is, it’s not.
I’m sorry that all these years we spent our time looking for it and now there’s nothing, but at least there’s hope that Brad Bird will add it!
Sorry guys!
What a BUMMER! That’s such a shame for Brad to break tradition… But at least we now know and we can stop wasting our time looking for something that isn’t there. It would be cool for them to add it in for the Blu-Ray release.
I was lead to believe that the Pizza Planet delivery truck has appeared in every Pixar movie. This article was posted October 30, 2006. sfgate.com/cgi-bin/blogs/chr … y_id=10391
We were all lead to believe that the truck was in EVERY movie, but nobody’s perfect and blunders like that happen. Nowadays in Pixar trivia (found on sites like Disney Movie Rewards and promotional material for WALL•E for example) it says almost every movie. But don’t take it from me, I heard this straight from a member of the Pixar Brain Tust who said it was NOT there. You do with that what you want.
I’m not going to reveal any quotes or names because of confidentiality and privacy reasons, you’re just going to have to take my word for it.
We need to mention this in the Wikipedia article or something. I’m sure there are other Pixar fans out there who are still looking for that Pizza Planet truck XD
Yeah, why would John Lasseter say that the truck was in every movie? Maybe he was mistaken? Or maybe this is some big conspiracy and Pixar wants us to stop looking for it!
But I do believe you that a Brain Trust member told you that it wasn’t in The Incredibles, Martin.
martini833 - Ah, shoot! I had hoped… Ah well. Heh. Thanks for letting us know, in any case, and thanks are in order to the Pixarian who gave you the information.
In this video, Jonas Rivera says that the Pizza Planet truck appears in “…almost every Pixar film.” The video went on to show where it appears in most of the films, except for The Incredibles and Ratatouille.
I have also read on Wiki that Pizza Planet truck was on the Incredibles movie. I try to look sometime when I bought the DVD but I haven’t still found it. Luckily, someone here have already found it(look at the first page). It alreadyy finished my hunt.
And here it is again in A Bug’s Life (1998) parked beside the trailer whose trash heap was Bug City:
Naturally, it appears again in Toy Story 2 (1999), and is actually driven by the toys:
It appears once again in Monsters, Inc. (2001) parked outside the very familiar trailer to which the villain Randall is banished:
And impossibly, it also appears in Finding Nemo (2003) during the sequence where Gill explains the escape plan and the viewer is given a POV from inside the bag and the truck drives across the screen just before the bag drops into the water:
But then we get to The Incredibles (2004) and this is where the streak is broken. Despite several claims, the truck does not appear in the film. Apparently, this is due to director Brad Bird’s insistence on having the cars look like they were from the '60s even though the rest of the buildings and robots were very modern. Yet another contributing factor to why it’s my least favorite Pixar flick:
But then it’s back in Cars (2006), seen here attending the final race. Now it’s even been anthropomorphized like the rest of the vehicles in the movie:
And surely, it couldn’t be in Ratatouille (2007), could it? That took place in Paris. Well, it’s hard to see, but the truck is definitely there crossing the bridge over the Seine when Skinner is chasing Remy.:
There’s actually 2 in Up (and I think I’ve found a third, kind of waiting for confirmation from Pete Docter himself, but I have no clue if he’ll answer that question from my letter). The other’s not in a currently released clip, but it’s most definitely there. It’s actually in the very last scene in the movie, on the far left, but I won’t go into more detail than that.
As for the one I spotted, it’s only about 5 minutes after the one pictured above, and it’s SUPER tiny (about as big as the one in Ratatouille, which I think there’s 2 in that movie as well)
Man, it’d be neat to be the first person to find it if it is one!
