I first got into Pokemon through the show. I had a terrible lung condition in the sixth grade and spent about a month or two in my room… both televisions were downstairs and, after weeks of extreme boredom, I begged my parents to bring the smaller tv to my room, which they ultimately did. In the afternoon, I was flipping channels and caught the first episode of Pokemon. It was the scene where Ash was asking Pikachu to get inside the Pokeball. I was like, “what the heck is that yellow thing and how can it get inside that tiny ball??”
After a few episodes I got really into it, and desperately tried to memorize all 150 pokemon from the Pokerap, haha! I made a website, bought the cards and learned how to play the game, and put pictures all over my room. My poor parents… they must’ve been scared, hehe. I absolutely loved it, but the interest grew out when more Pokemon were introduced (well, a little after… I loved Togepi). I looooved Dragonair… she looked so beautiful. Mewtwo was another favourite.
For me, alas, it was collecting.
The first pack I ever got I got the rare Alakazam.
From there, it went on to Charizard, TCG specials, Rare Mew Cards, and even becoming the talk of the town when Burger King started it’s Trade Sessions.
Actually was one of the duelers on the radio and interviewed on television at the scene with my extensive collection.
Man, how I loved the original Pokemon. It was so awesome to watch after school. I don’t really like the new series much however. I mean, isn’t 151 Pokemon enough? Lol…
My favourite Pokemon was Vaporeon and the other Eevee evolutions.

Pokemon in it’s prime iz the best…after they changed the theme song, it was over for me.
I agree with Aggie, after they started adding all these extra sub Pokemon, I was no longer golden…I do have to admit my only new generation favs are Togepi and Pichu. Older favs include Pikachu (of course!), Squirtle, Jigglypuff (funny!) and Primape.
How many Pokemon are there now anyway?

251 as far as I know, but I think the newest game is clocking in about over 300.
493 I believe.
I will be back at a later time to discuss my views on the subject of the vg’s addictive properties later. Right now I have to go catch a pachirisu
loves on the electric squirrels
I was head over heels for Pokemon back in the day…When there were only 150 Pokemon!
I kinda grew out of it, but I kinda miss it…I admit it! It was a good show for a while, too. Same with the video games.
Pokémon is LOVE. ![]()
Milotic is my favorite so far, but earlier today I was looking at the new batch and was surprised I wasn’t drooling on my keyboard. They’re all wicked awesome! ![]()
When the trading cards were a hot item years ago, I spent HUNDREDS of dollars on them. I got my hands on foreign cards other than Japanese (French, German, etc.). I was on a roll, but so was the nonstop release of new card sets. Since I knew I could never catch up, it was an addiction I had to drop.
I still collect Pokémon stuff to this day, mostly plushies. I also own a Pikachu N64 w/controller, and its cheeks glow. ![]()
I’m asking for a Nintendo DS and either Pearl or Diamond for my upcoming 23rd Birthday.
~~=oP
I used to love Pokemon, too. I had a poster on my b/room wall with the original 100 Pokemon - the one with each name and number. I had Pokemon yellow on my GameBoy, but I never managed to finish it, I don’t think. The show was awesome, too. I was 13 or 14, though before I grew out of it. I have seem to have lost track of the Pokemon series now, though.
I got caught up in the Pokemon craze really early, I remember I had a poster on the buliten board in my room of the original 150. My obsession stayed until I was about 14. I used to draw new ones for my enjoyment. I came up with a Totem Pole Pokemon. ![]()
I like pokemon. Pokemon was the best for me when I was young. I abandoned it later on, but then it all came back to me. I think my favorite is Raichu, but i love all of the water type starter pokemon.
PV- The Nintendo DS Lite is great- I thought the touch screen would get irritating, but it works so well it really does become really fun! And there’s so many cool games for it, that it would be perfect as a birthday present. ![]()
When Pokemon first came out, oh it was so much love. I miss the old 150 pokemon days. I kind of came out of the whole thing when I was 12. I still play my Silver game from time to time. I was at my friends house the other week and I played Pearl. It reminded me why I loved it in the first place. I’m thinking about getting a DS this winter just to play Pokemon.
Digimon is still better
the sad thing is, i have completely memorized the first 150. but after that, i totally lost it. ![]()
AH! same here! i was so mad when they came out with new ones! Mew wasn’t bad, because that was just one. But then they added a whole new 50 and i was like “Great. Well i used to be a Pokemon expert.”
Here’s a good question. How many Pokemon monster’s are there?
![]()
I think that was here already heh…
Oops, sorry, that’s my fault. ![]()
No problem heh.
Everyone here seems to have trouble keeping up. the first 150 people probably know by heart…the others are…well…allot heh.
