Rank Top Animation Studios

  1. Pixar-What else?
  2. Dreamworks-Sherk the third trashy, but Shrek, The Madacascar films, Kung fu panda, Antz, El dorado Great
  3. Studio Ghibli- I’ve only seen Sprited Away, and KiKI’s deliverly Service, but both of them were genius
  4. Blue Sky- All of there films were wonderful except ice age 2, and probably ice age 3
  5. Aardman- Chicken Run was good. Wallace and Gromit was great! Flushed Away was just okay {He Ha He}
  6. Everything else

Vanguard would’nt even be on the list of bad studios there so horrible!

I’m pretty much set in my way when it comes to my animation… You fail to appear in my top selection… you fail period and I probably never will see any of your material… Its a shame but pure fact… But here goes

1: Pixar Animation Studios: Its Storytelling Storytelling Storytelling… And Its something which animation counts on… Pixar can tell and make stories for anything and its innovative and a world leader in Computer Based Animation.

2: Disney Animation Studios: The Creator of Animation, The Best there was until Pixar took its crown in 1995 with Toy Story. And Maybe with John Lasseter at the Helm of the company he loved as a child maybe Walt Disney Animations can provide reason behind the Idea that Lasseter is the Walt Disney of the 21st Century

3: Aardman Animation Studios: Wallace and Gromit, Chicken Run, Shaun The Sheep, Angry Kid, Morph… name which to Brits are more than Household names they are Cultural Icons for the differing generations. Everyone points out Flushed Away as a Weakness it is… but its not Nick Park and his Studios Fault it is the responsibility of Aardman’s former Partners Dreamworks.

4: Dreamworks: Some Good some absolutely terrible… A Company like Disney during the late 90s and Prior to the Acquisition of Pixar knows a Cash Cow and how to milk it! And as they milk their movie spiral downwards in quality.

  1. PIXAR ANIMATION STUDIOS
  2. Studio Ghibli (Howl’s Moving Castle, Studio Spirited Away)
  3. Aardman (I loved Chicken Run, everything else was blah)
  4. Disney (The new live action is bringing them down!) (Bolt was okay, at least they had JL)
  5. Video Brinquedo loses to nothing.
  6. Video Brinquedo XDXDXD (obviously their “movies” SUCK, but they make good YTP material)

And the reason I didn’t list Dreamworks is because they are only into making movies for $$$ (Shrek the 3rd? Madagascar 2?). Which makes no sense… if they had put more effort into story then wouldn’t they make even more money than they did making…

…films?

At least they didn’t make six like Rocky (IMO six is way too many)

HEE HEE HEE HEE!!

Me too!

  1. Pixar - The Studio Ghibli of the West, and the best in 3D animation. Three of their films are among my Top Ten list of all-time, and there’s not a single one of their movies I hate. Hopefully they continue this unbelievable winning streak with TS3.

  2. Walt Disney - Only because they were the ones that started it all, and with their spectacular return with PATF. Not too excited about Ra… Tangled, though.

  3. Studio Ghibli - I’ve watched six of their movies, and none of them have disappointed me (Okay, maybe Tales of Earthsea did, a little). But there’s really not a stinker in any of their catalogue!

  4. Aardman - I loved Chicken Run, Curse of the Were-Rabbit and Flushed Away! I have yet to watch the W&G series, but I did like their work on ‘Creature Comforts’ and ‘Shaun the Sheep’.

  5. Dreamworks - I had a major paradigm shift due to Dragons, and they are on the right track with Shrek 4 and Megamind. But these were the same folks who came up with Bee Movie and Antz, so…

  6. Blue Sky - They have it in them (Refer to Robots and Horton), but after churning out the underwhelming Dawn of the Dinosaurs, and with a fourth on the way, the Ice Age saga seems to be their only reliable franchise. But I’m really excited for Rio, which I hope will be their best yet!

  7. Sony - Haven’t seen Cloudy, but I did enjoy Open Season and Surf’s Up. I also watched ‘The Chubb-Chubbs’ short in an animation screening in Singapore many years ago and I remember liking it.

  8. Animal Logic - With only one feature film under their belt (Happy Feet), not much to go on. This Australian studio seem to focus more on photo-realistic renders than storytelling, but I’m keeping my hopes up for Legend of the Guardians.

I would put Yash Raj at the bottom of the list after seeing Roadside Romeo, but it’s not a big-player, and not a strict animation studio per se. I haven’t seen any of Vanguard’s films (and don’t plan to), or Planet 51 (so that leaves out Spanish-based Ilion Animation Studios). Crest looks to be an upcoming player, but with the disappointing Alpha & Omega trailer, I’m not too sure.
