I’ll be at the theater at 4:45 today (a little over 3 hours away) bouncing in my chair through the previews! ![]()
Argh I still got to wait one more day!!!
I am seeing this Saturday afternoon with some friends then we are going to go to a Japanese steakhouse cause we know our appitites will be over the edge after seeing this movie ![]()
Eh, well hopefully Pixar will realise (hello, Pixar people) how much of a disappointment it is to us fans that they will make the release dates closer together for future films. crosses fingers
I’m over it now, though and at least I get to live vicariously through you guys. Heh. =)
Mitch: Are you still going to the El Capitan to see it? They’ve got some neato stuff happening there… LINK
OK this is it for me, I see Ratatouille today!!!
Okay, so I’m so completely depressed since I got into a huge fight with my mom the other day, resulting in not seeing Ratatouille. They’re gone today, and they have work tomorrow, so unless I go on foot I’m never seeing it opening weekend. I suppose I could ask my grandpa … but then again if my mom says no I’ll not see it again.
Does anyone know what you get with the ticket stubs?
I’m afraid to know.
I’m could just die right now … ![]()
rachel - Yep! I will, indeed, do my utmost to see the film at 9:50 this evening (it is the earliest showing, with the exception of a midnight show, that has not sold out of tickets…yet) with my dad and sister. But, if I can’t see it at the El Capitan today, I could always go tomorrow. Either way, I’ll still see it for the fourth time – perhaps fifth time, because my dad says that if we can’t see it at the El Capitan tonight then we’ll just go to another theater to see it again. I haven’t seen him this adamant about viewing a film since Revenge of the Sith was released. ![]()
FONY - Oh dear. I’m terribly sorry about that. That sucks! I suppose you could always go on foot (because that’s how I saw the film twice yesterday) if the trip isn’t be too long.
As for the ticket stubs: If you visit your local Disney Store, with your ticket stub(s) in hand, you can trade in the tickets for free Ratatouille pins. I’m going to do that myself this morning. Hopefully, the pins haven’t all sold out yet…
Mitch: I called my mom up and hopefully we’ll see it later tonight … I hope. =P I hope the pins aren’t sold out either. I’d buy them off eBay if that’s the case.
I’d go on foot even though it’s … all the way down my street, up another long street and down a very long highway. But if I had to, I would.
There’s a closer theatre but it’s cramped and crummy and not worth the money. ![]()
I’m happier now that I didn’t give up and took the chance of possibly being strangled through the phone.
lol!
FONY - Haha. Well, that’s great! I’m glad that you have the chance to see it today! I hope you do watch it; it’s a lovely little film… It rocked my socks off. ![]()
Hate to blabber, but I’d see it a hundred times if I could afford it.
It really is that good.
I’m going to drag my dad to see it, he just has to. He’s one of those adults who think cartoon = kids film, and people like that have just gotta understand otherwise, especially when it comes to Pixar. ![]()
Just got back from the theatre!!!
Good story and good characters.
Anyone see the pizza planet truck?
I stayed through the ending credit hoping there will be a clip at then end, but there wasn’t
I think the Pizza Planet truck can be seen in the “Skinner chasing Remy” moment at the end of the film.
FONY - I don’t blame you. I would see it a thousand times in the theater if I had the chance, but I won’t be able to until I get the DVD of the film. ![]()
aZnCdn - Awesome! I’m glad you enjoyed the film. But, then again, who wouldn’t? ![]()
I stayed for the ending credits for the sole fact that I wanted to see if Pixar had mentioned Pixar Planet in any way. Alas!, my hopes probably shouldn’t have been too high in that aspect, as this site wasn’t mentioned. There’s always a second time, though!
Oh, and the Pizza Planet truck can be seen – as Bill mentioned – at the end of the “Skinner Chasing Remy” sequence. If you look at the bridge behind Skinner (after Skinner falls into the water), you should notice it pass by. Thanks goes to JV for the information…
By the way, my dad got tickets for the 9:50 screening of Ratatouille at the El Capitan theater! Yippee, huzzah, and hip-hip horay!!! ![]()
I also traded in two of my four Ratatouille ticket stubs for a couple of (Remy and Colette) pins. I only remembered that I had left the other two at home by the time I got to the mall/Disney Store. ![]()
Oh, I’d so see it at least three times, but it costs 10 bucks to go and 7 bucks to see it during matinee. =P
I hope they didn’t run out of pins yet! >< I’m an avid pin collector, so I’ll be really angry … I’ll go all she-hulk on the Disney store, lol! ^^;
looks at the previous posts Please… Don’t make me jealous! ![]()
Mitch-Oooh,can you take a pic of the pins? ![]()
I was watching closely but didn’t see it. I don’t think I can ask the film operator to pause and rewind for me.
After thinking about this movie all day. I think my expectations may have been too high for this movie, don’t get me wrong it was a good movie.
In my opinion Toy story set the bar, The Incredibles and Cars raised the bar so Ratatouille came close to the bar but did not raise it.
Possible spoiler ahead… [spoil] The comedy was just OK, they didn’t have as many hidden jokes as I was expecting. Also I guess I wanted to see more history on the characters like Linguini and Colette’s past. Colette briefly mentioned how she got in the kitchen but maybe they should have shown even a 1 min clip on her past. I would have liked to see them shed some light on Linguini’s childhood and how his mom hooked up with Gasteau. I think with those elements it would have tied the movie in a little better and would have had more impact on me. In fact I think somewhere in another thread someone was asking about the history between Linguini and Colette
Just like how Sally talked about her past and then the showed a brief history on the town radiator springs, it makes the movie come together which is what I thought Ratatouille was lacking. [/spoil]
I am not knocking the movie I think it was great and I plan on getting the DVD, just a few changes I think that would have made the movie better.
Annoying - Oh, but of course! I’ll post some pictures soon.
aZnCdn - I see what you mean concerning those various points/statements of yours on the comedic content and such. I think I shall elaborate on those points…
One of the aspects of the film that really captured my attention and satisfied me was it’s apparent lack of comedy. The humor is there, of course, but it is very subtley and tenderly integrated. They didn’t overdo the laughs, but rather focused more on the story itself and it’s compilation of characters. I suppose that this aspect makes Ratatouille a little “darker” than previous Pixar films, but it works.
As for the characters themselves:
[spoil]I would also have liked to have known more about such characters as Colette, Linguini, and Linguini’s mother (who went by the name of “Rewena”, I believe), but I can see why any major backround stories of these characters were eliminated altogether. For one thing, it minimizes screen time; had too much information been included, the film would have been too long; also, the main character the film focuses on is Remy, not Colette or Linguini’s mother. Even Linguini, who gets plenty of (necessary) screen time, can remain secretive as far as his past goes; not everything needs to be known about him except the fact that he ties in with Remy’s main objective and plot-line/story. The rest is left up for your imagination to explore…[/spoil]
So yeah. There ya’ have it! We all have our own views and opinions, however, and I respect that. ![]()

^^ Ya I totally agree.
One is undisputable, Remy is so darn cute!!!
Edited for language. – Mitch
aZnCdn - You can say that again! I’m completely in love… <img src=“{SMILIES_PATH}/love2.gif” alt=“:loves:” title="In

Mitch-Oh goody!Pics!
Oh yeah,and [spoil]Linguini’s mother’s name is Renata[/spoil]. ![]()
