Ratatouille - Official Opening day

Annoying - Ah yes, that was her name! Thank you.

Ratatouille B.O. Gross Estimate

Ha! :stuck_out_tongue:

Thanks goes to Upcoming Pixar for the link.

– Mitch

Mitch: Cool. I’m glad you’re going (or at least going to try to go) to the El Capitan to see it. Your dad would probably appreciate the animation. I thought you would have already. Darn these time zones - I get so confused, heh.

FONY: Yay! I’m happy that you will probably see it, now! =)

Oh and yeah, please take a picture of those awesome pins! I might consider buying one off Ebay, since we probably won’t have that offer over here.

That really stinks.

Edited for language. – Mitch

I saw it, again. My parents loved it. My dad was squirmish only when the rats were in clusters. Otherwise, he was alright with it

I realized now that I have six ticket stubs, but I’m not sure if they’ll accept ones from the sneaks. I hope not, because I’d like to keep at least one stub for myself, but then again a soveiner of a disney pin is better. ^^ I just have a habit of collecting stubs. :stuck_out_tongue:

I’ll be lucky if they even have pins, since tomorrow is the last day of opening weekend. =P

[spoil]I saw Bomb Voyage! And unless my eyes decieved me I did catch a glimpse of the Pizza Planet Truck on the bridge.[/spoil]

Same guy who did Snot Rod’s voice is Linguini’s voice, didn’t know that

I found that out too!! It’s made my love for both snotrod and linguini grow.

That’s cool, but Snotrod didn’t have any dialogue, right? Just sneezing, from what I can remember …

Anyways, I got four out of the six pins. I considered myself lucky, given the fact I arrived a half an hour before the mall’s closing time, so … I’m happy. I got a double of Emile and Linguini, but I gave them to my brother. :stuck_out_tongue:

The pins I got were Skinner, Emile, Colette, and Linguini. I’m missing Gusteau and Remy, but I’m sure to find them around the flea market one of these days. If not, oh well, I’m content.

He did have at least one line, which I cannot remember specifically at the moment. I want to say it was something along the lines of “You going on a road trip?” to Mack. Some nerdy attempt at saying something cool.

I guess I’d better say something about the main topic of the thread as well… :unamused: The B.O. news is disappointing, but I’m not too surprised, honestly. Additionally, I’m confident that the slow start doesn’t spell doom, and that while it won’t be the highest-grossing Pixar film by a long shot, it won’t do too shabby. As long as it out-grosses the summer’s other animated films I’ll be more or less happy. :stuck_out_tongue: And I do agree that word-of-mouth will really help it pick up as time goes on. I remember reading somewhere that someone, Bird or Iger or Lasseter or someone like that, said that the film itself is the best advertisement (hence the 9-minute preview and advance screenings), so that means that once people see “the film itself,” they’ll tell their friends (or in my case drag my friends) to go see it too.

“You going on vacation?” - Snot Rod

He was also Bernie Kropp (Dash’ teacher) in The Incredibles.

Oh snap :open_mouth: didn’t know that either.

rachel - Oh yeah, my dad can’t get enough of it! We’ve been watching the film every day since it’s initial release…

Welp, I saw the film again at the El Capitan theater in Hollywood only yesterday. Simply stunning. As the lights dimmed and the melodic chant of the echoing orchestra descended below a vast and luminous stage, the delighted and story-hungry audience gave a tremendous cheer of admiration as the film began its slow introduction, eventually culminating into a rabid rat chase, before closing its doors with a heart-warming message that lit up the hearts and souls of its cinematic inhabitants…

Needless to say, I was among the more thrilled attendees at the Saturday screening that late, crisp, star-filled night, and my enthusiasm – coupled with the fact that I knew pretty much every line of dialogue in the film by then – only seemed to further enhance that captivating experience.

There is something about this films that just screams out…“beautiful”…and…“unpredicatable” , both to the world and to myself. Each time I watch this film, I see myself as Remy more and more. I know it sounds crazy, but, truth be told, the plot-line of this film almost seems like the story of my life, and the hazards and rewards I will discover along the way. Remy’s view of Paris, which was right under his nose the whole time he was sulking in the confines of the sewer, is like…me looking out at Pixar Animation Studios, which is right under my nose – all I have to do is keep drawing… All I have to do is keep cooking… Because anyone can cook…

There are two statements that were uttered by critic Anton Ego and chef Remy within the confines of the film; a couple of simply superb phrases that were so beautifully lit…that they made my heart soar, and those declarations were these:

[spoil]Change is nature, dad – the part that…we can influence. And it starts…when we decide… – Remy[/spoil]

When we decide. Oh, oui. Oui, indeed…

[spoil]Not everyone can become a great chef, but a great chef can come from anywhere. – Ego[/spoil]

Perhaps I slipped up on that predicate, as far as composition goes, but the context is the same. ‘Strive’ is the word, and is the key that unlocks the door…

It is also needless to say that, due to the fact that a Disney Store was situated right next to the El Capitan theater, I ended up purchasing a few things (or, at least, my dad did). Among the items that were purchased included the official Guide to Remy’s World book and a Ratatouille apron that fits nicely around my sister’s waist. (A stack of Ratatouille-themed Uno cards and many other toys were also featured, but money is an object in many instances. Heh…) I also traded in my Ratatouille ticket stubs for a couple more pins; I’m glad I got the Remy one yesterday, because they were all out of them today!

You can find pictures of my Ratatouille merchandise in the “Ratatouille Toys” section of this board.

– Mitch

P.S. My apologies in that I didn’t capture any pictures of the El Capitan theater while I was there. My stupid camera phone wasn’t cooperating, and I only realised today that I can adjust the resolution and consistency of a picture. Typical. (Heh.)

Did you see the Pizzas Planet truck Mitch?

JV - Cha, I found it! Darn thing went by at a thousand miles an hour, but I caught it. (snigger)

I keep forgetting to look for the A113 reference, though I know where it is. I’ll have to glance at that one next time I watch the film.

Maggie_PixarFan- That is no fair for you. Well, I saw it, a very

great movie, and my favorite I’d have to say. But I still like TI. I’ll think you’ll love it

Maggie_PixarFan  I found some stuff in the film. So when you get to see the

movie, enjoy!!

P.S. My favorite line is this Remy- “The book!!” And here is my other favorite

Colette- “What? I’m making Ratatouille, well how would you make it?” I don’t know how to use the

spoil tags!! :stuck_out_tongue:

Mitch-I believe A113 is [spoil]on Git the lab rat’s tag (I think it’s on his ear).[/spoil]

Annoying: Ahh, you beat me to it. xD Yeah, I was looking and I think that it said that there.

My absolute favorite quote has to be by Django …

[spoil]“Food is fuel. If you’re picky about what you put in the tank, your engine is gonna die”.[/spoil]

Even on it’s second day out, Ratatouille was still the movie of the weekend. People were crowding in to the theatres just to watch it. It was a great movie, I loved it so much.

PL - For future reference, spoiler tags can be accessed/used by typing in —> [ spoil ] your message here [ /spoil ] <— , only without the spaces in between the word “spoil” and its bracket counterparts.

Cha – JV mentioned that fact some time ago. I’m gonna look for it when I see the film this evening. Thanks for the information, though!

FONY - Haha! That’s a great line! l

I just saw Ratatouille today, it was a great film though, but I was a little confused about the ending. Since my little brother wouldn’t shut up.
Though, I was suprized that…
[spoil]Gusteau died! And he was Linguini’s father.[/spoil]

CarFreak - Heh. Yeah…

[spoil]Poor Linguini. He lost his father and his mother.[/spoil]

:unamused:
