Sarah Vowell at WVU

Sarah Vowell spoke at West Virginia University last night for her part

of the university’s Festival Of Ideas. She was, as my mom told her later, “wonderfully witty” as

always.

;-p

She autographed my program and my

copy of Violet’s Incredible Diary, which she remarked about never seeing before. I

informed her that you can’t find the book in the US. Sarah seems to be pleasantly surprised with fans of hers

who are incredibly interested in her involvement with Pixar as opposed to her written work. Don’t get me wrong.

I love her as a writer, but, yeah, I have other reasons for wanting to meet her.

:-D)

I also asked Sarah for a small favor dealing with Radio Pixar. She very

politely answered, “I woouuld, but, have you ever seen a Disney contract?” In my mind I was like,

 I’m finished here. Sarah was worried she’d enrage Disney. Her voice as Violet

does belong to them. I would’ve been a fool not to ask,

though.

Stupid contracts …

I promise u all , if

I become famous with Disney/Pixar , I’ll make sure any contract I have won’t collide with Radio Pixar !

Wow , you must have been very excited to meet her , PV .

I was, but

it wasn’t my first meet-and-greet with her.

~~=oP

You’re such a Violet ook …

Yes , I

stole Mitch’s word ! ( Sorry , Mitch )

Awesome PV! It must have been so cool!

Your so lucky to meet her PV!!!

PixarVixen - Gee whiz – so Ms. Vowell must know your name by heart now, as you’ve

met her so many times! (snigger)

Sounds like another great experience! Too bad she couldn’t confer with

the whole Radio Pixar deal, but at least you got to meet the voice behind

Violet…again!

Haha – no sweat!

I was very nervous, but luckily

Sarah is really easy to talk to.

PV: I have so much

questions.

  1. How did she reacted when she saw you again?
  2. How many times have you seen her?

What other Incredibles questions did you ask her?

1.

I told Sarah I saw her last February in Washington, D.C., and she remembered the train incident. We shared a

chuckle, but I don’t think she recognized me.

2. I’ve seen Sarah

twice.

3. I’m too shy to ask her anything. I don’t know how I

managed to approach her yesterday. Heheh.

Last year, another person in the audience asked her if she

would provide Violet’s voice for an Incredibles sequel, and she answered

“yes”. Good news for Incredibles fans.

THat is just wonderful PV. At least

you got to meet her. I would do anything just to talk with her. Anything. And I am indeed happy that she has

decided to stick with the Pixar family.

Heheh – that’s cool. I’d probably be

too shy even to go to the seminar, so I applaude you for summing up the courage to see her again. (snigger)

That’s wonderful,

PixarVixen!

I’m glad you’ve gotten two

chances to meet her…

PV, I am

dumbstruck that you met her. Good for you! And I can see why she would turn down doing something for Radio Pixar,

but it’s dissapointing all the same.

PV: Besides your Violet’s Incredible Diary, was there anything else that she signed?

She also autographed

3 programs for me and my parents.

~~=oP

PV- Wow, it must’ve been

very nice to meet her again, and it’s even better that although you were nervous, she was still nice and easy to

talk to. It’s great when actors are down-to-earth, and you can actually have a proper conversation with them!

PV: How long did your little chat with her last? Was there a time limit?

Heck no. If anything, I had

extra time to talk with Sarah because the line for autographs was very short. I

reached her in about 5 minutes, and our conversation lasted just as long. But Washington, D.C. was a

different story.

~~=oP

Oh please tell me the story

please.
