Secret Identities Revealed

Heheh. Yeah, I think you’re right. I don’t expect them to run through all seven continents and save the whole world everyday.

I know Edna is a fashion genius, but would that really count as a superpower?

No I don’t think that would really count as a Super power, but boy, her fashion sense is one of a kind.

Yes, it’s truly one of a kind, daaahhling!!!

In fact, she’s not only a fashion genius, but a technology genius as well. She designs these supersuits that can be very thin and bulletproof at the same time, or extremely stretchable, or become invisible, or even help speeding up the running speed. (or machine-washable… well, nevermind :frowning: )

Remember, no capes! :stuck_out_tongue:

That’s a really good point, Killler123. I’ve never really seen Edna in that sort of light, but she must be a real genious, perhaps even on Syndrome’s level, to be able to create such supersuits. I’m surprised Syndrome never tried to poach her! Or may be did, but she refused the offer- she is pretty scary when she’s angry, after all.

Speaking of Edna, her costume lab might be the most technoloically advanced in the world. BUt think about it. Where does she get the material for the SUper Suits? Does she create them? Does she take ordinary chloting items and manipulate their molecular structure? Or is there a place where she could purchase material for Super Suits?

Not from cute, furry beasties, I hope.

But yes, one of Killler123’s statement pointed out an accurate factor; she is very knowledgeable in the subject of technology science, which would definitely offer writers to some ideas about her significance in an Incredibles fan fiction. The materials used were, in misfortune, not effectively emphasized by Mr. Brad Bird in the movie, though it is much understandable, considering the length of a typical Pixar film.

But, as the great ‘fashionista’ herself - or himself - had stated, words are useless. Let us tread down memory lane as we take another glimpse at that particular scene.

E
I started with the baby.

HELEN
Started?

E
Shh! Darling! Shh! I cut it a little roomy for the free movement. The fabric is comfortable for sensitive skin, [cue explosive flames] and can also withstand a temperature of over 1000 degrees. Completely bulletproof. [cue rattling guns] And machine washable, darling. That’s a new feature.

HELEN
What on earth do you think the baby will be doing?!

E
Well, I’m sure I don’t know, darling. Luck favors the prepared. I didn’t know the baby’s powers, so I covered the basics.

Yes, E, what on earth were you thinking?

So, let us examine these. Comfortable fabric preventing rashes from generating in humidity, fireproof and bulletproof threads, not to mention composition of strong weaving for the machine user. I would believe she have to possess a certain background as a scientist to be capable in applying these amazing features onto the baby suit.

For people with sensitive skin, the common tailor would have one material on his/her list; the ‘breathing cloth.’ Silk or cotton, as long as air is allowed to be passed through its fabric easily, it is suitable. The price is not the problem, as I am sure with Edna’s status of wealth. The feat would be manipulating the technology to her will as to making silk impenetrable to high-speed metallic projectiles.

Bulletproof. It requires what, I ask, fans of Pixar? That is right; extremely air-tight composites to block out all pressure, large or little, from the wide-spaced fabric. There is no room for thin threads here; the entire garment is tightly packed together in one package of armor. Therefore, how Edna was able to put together the softest and spaciest with the hardest and strongest is the question I believe many have missed.

And I have not even go on to the prevention of fire yet.

I would continue, but I feel it is more beneficial for others to ponder about the other essential factor; bringing together washable wool with fireproof aluminum, a topic I am more unfamiliar with, unfortunately. :stuck_out_tongue:

Intresting points you have stated there.

Well, I think that one would have to really go in depth with the movie to realize how special Edna’s Super SUit material must be. When watching the movie, one would just ignore the importance of the fabric because they want to see the finished product: The Super Suits.

So you are suggesting that instead of finding “soft material that is bullet proof” for Jack-Jack, she manipulates the threads instead to make it increasingly strong and impenetrible? Hmm, thats a good suggestion. I think that somewhere in her lab, she has got some material that is as soft as silk, but super strong against bullets.

Speaking of which, if Edna makes a Super SUit fireproof? Would it be effective against lasers? After all, lasers is plasma right? Just like fire.

Here is a question. After the Super Hero Relocaion program was initiated, do you think the majority of the Supers of the Glory Days had trouble adjusting to civilian life?

Majority of the Supers of the Glory Days was killed by Syndrome, or rather, Syndrome’s robots.

Other than that, you can see that Helen Parr or Lucius didn’t really have trouble adjusting to civilian life. Well, people like Bob or Gazerbeam (as mentioned by Lucius) did, though.

However, my theory is that the majority of them had trouble adjusting to civilian life. I think most of them were still missing the Glory Days, just like Bob. They tried to do secret super hero work, just like Bob. So, when they all got the ‘Superhero work’ invitation from Mirage, they’d surely accept it. Sadly, they died. :unamused:

I wonder if Violet or Dash knew any of them.

I think the only ones the kids knew were the ones in the news and the ones that Mr. Incredible knew…they were much to young to know about the relocation system until it was ten years in the process.

The kids know Frozone too. (er… obviously)

yah…otherwise i know of nothin’ else that even hints of knowledge.

Oh course the kids know frozone. I’m just wondering if they were acquainted with any of the other Supers. Surely Helen and Bob must’ve told them that there were others like them.

But did they tell them details like how they were removed or how they relocated? Would Bob and Helen tell the kids stuff that might get them to worrying?

i am sure they would like to know the truth.

I guess Bob and Helen could have told them about other superheros but i don’t know if they would have told them about the problems that other superpowers faced. I think that would only make the kids worry about their future…

Do you think Violet and Dash have friends that are also Supers?

I think that would be rare but most definitly yes.

I can’t see them not knowing at least a few friends that have super powers

makes me wonder what the metroville and world Super Hero:Human ratio is.
