I thought Helen told Dash that “The world just want us to fit in” or something like that in the movie.
That’s true…i don’t think they would tell them about their possibility of moving…that would just worry me.
Killer123, I bet she said “the world just wants us to fit in” as a way of saying “we were shut down by the govt.”
I think the other super hero’s are still alive, but in hiding, just like how The Incredibles were. Also what were there fake last names. Violet Incredible sounds OK. But Dash Incredible and Bob Incredible? Also Dash’s real name is Dashel, if you remember from the car scene.
Their last names are Parr…i believe that is their real last name. Otherwise that could be a code name for the Government…ya know something the gov set up for protection.
thats…well
Like all Super Heroes, they have a secret identity. I believe Mr. incredible’s real name was Robert Parr. I doubt that the government assigned him that name after the Super Hero ban was initiated.
One thing I also ponder about is how Mirage came to be willing to work for Syndrome…I know they had a relationship but obviously it wasn’t like: “I love you…” “I love you, too…” “So…wanna help me kill off supers?”
Maybe as they came to know each other, Syndrome told Mirage about his childhood experience, and from his point of view, Mr. Incredible is mean and full of himself. What do you think?
Syndrome probably hired her as an assistant first. The longer he worked with her, the deeper their relationship got. I don’t know how Mirage came to agree to work with him. He probably offered her a lot of money.
She was probably without a job and had no one to turn to. And she’s power-hungry, so Syndrome ,most likely, ran into her somewhere, stared talking to her, saying how they were “both in the same boat” and had “untapped power that that could be used in so many ways.” He probably wooed her over with charm and an offer for a high-end-job and a huge salary; he probably never told her everything that she’d be doing. And, by the time she found out, she was in to deep-- afraid he’d kill her or something.
Hmmm, that is a good theory violet.
still i don’t know what to say
Hmm…interesting theory…especially the last bit…I might actually use that in my fic. Thanks, Violet.
Crazy Calico: ooh, I can’t wait to read it.
Interesting theories about how Syndrome and Mirage came to know each other. I always used to think she was a super that Syn just ended up falling in love with , after he could not bring himself to harm her.
Oh and Violet Parr : I must say that is one smashing Violet sig you made. Quite a lot of great close-ups.
Thanks for the compliment !
I always wondered - if they erase the people’s memories, why do the Supers have to relocate? And If Bob’s boss remembers the incident at all (say, remembering that Bob injured him but forgetting the “Super” part about going through the wall), wouldn’t he press charges?
You can never be too careful with secrecy.
He could if he wanted to, but like you said, he won’t be able to recall the bit about Bob having superhuman strength.
Another thing to ponder about: What was the point of erasing people’s memories and all the relocating stuff? It’s as if they were trying to cover up the existence of superheroes. Outlaw superheroics and make it illegal, but I don’t see the point in trying to deny its very presence. It’s like saying guns don’t exist or any illegal contraband you care to mention, for that matter.
I think the erasing of memories is important because the civilian who found out would have knowledge of a Super’s most valuble possesion: Their identity. With this knowledge, he can go tell anyone/everyone about it an nothing would stop him. On a bad side, what if a Super Villain captures him and tortures him until he tells him the secret identity. (just a senerio)
I don’t know what to say about relocation however.
Started a new topic, then saw this one so took down the topic and posted here, it derives from the problems the Parrs would have in general. Here’s my original post. Have yet to check if someone has mentioned this though:
They have matching uniforms- and it’s probably pretty clear from the get go they are a family if they decide to have a BABY on the team (weird. And not responsible at all.). Won’t someone therefore who knows the Parrs AT ALL pretty much guess who they are REALLY EASILY?
They only have a little black mask. Their hairstyles as a whole are the same , they will notice the same body structures, they will notice behaviours however slight if they run into them face to face in their superhero persona.
Basically- if you know the Parrs well enough, you will see similarities between them and the superhero family all too easily.
Honestly. They need something more to say the least if they are going to protect their secert identities. Like a WHOLE mask at minimum- they may even need to SPLIT UP as a team and be heroes of their own accord. Or else they’ll be cranking out the mind wipes like no tomorrow.
Hiding the various coincidences of ONE person-one secret identity not being discovered is believable (to a certain point), but I think the Parr family are going to run into difficulties if they believe they are not going to get caught. The fact they are a team plus a family makes things on the whole horrendously more difficult and results in an increased likelihood that someone who knows them as simply the ‘Parrs’ will put two and two together.
Unless they pretend they’re NOT a family- but that would mean getting rid of Jack-Jack at the very least for a while (… but they should anyway really- a baby shouldn’t be intentionally set fighting bad guys at all).
I’m just wondering what on earth they could do to keep the team together without running that very very high risk, and if that was at all possible.
So better masks? Split up the team? Pretend not to be a family and thus put Jack-Jack aside for a while (Which they should anyway as mentioned)?
There is only so many wind wipes that will probably be tolerated.
Just curious to hear your thoughts
