Is there a video of the scene anywhere? I really wanna see it again
I missed it, so I really hope someone uploads it on Youtube or something…
What’s with the sneak peek from MovieSufers someone mentioned? Did they show a new clip?
I guess MovieSurfers had a special sneak peak for Wall-E…It was aired during Finding Nemo last night though…So I missed it…Idk what was played though.
Yeah, I saw that one! [spoil]It’s what happens immediately after Netbug’s description. The pair are sort of flying around in space, right in front of the Axiom. Eventually they end up underneath the ship, which, in the trailer, is what the big purple pits are at the end. The clip included about half of the one from ABC, and ends with Wall-E falling into Eve’s arms. Really cute scene.[/spoil]
I’m sure someone will explain it better, I barely remember it. What I do remember, though, is the score. Absolutely fantastic, I can’t wait to hear (And see!!) the rest of the movie.
I missed the Surfers spot too because I was watching Nemo, but I’m guesing they showed the first clip on the official site: “Surfers visit space camp”, from the commercials advertising it.

No, that’s not the Sneak Peek. The clip on Sufers was released on June 6, the Sneak Peek was released on June 7.
Why do these guys don’t show that media on the Internet? That makes no sense at all.
I know, I know, but I have this strange feeling they accidentally showed it the other day on Disney Channel, but who knows, we’ll probabaly see it on the internet soon. It couldn’t have been any better than the awesome spots with nemo, and the out of this world clip of WALL-E.
Wait, so the Disney clip was different? Somebody else said it was the same. Now I’m confused. O.o
Well, if it is different, it’s bes that I missed it. I think I have taken in more than enough promotional clips for one movie. I’m gonna stay away from any more until after I see this thing. I mean, I have to have taken in a good 10 minutes of footage. O.o Darn heavy advertising.

Agreed…
Ssshhhhh…the WALL-E clip from ABC is online (I’ve saved it on my computer, just in case). Thanks to Angel (IMDB/YouTube user):

That certainly doesn’t look like your average CG flick! I forgot that I was watching an animated feature, and that’s a pretty big impression/statement from watching a YouTube clip in poor quality.
I love the music (very lovely Thomas Newman style for quiet scenes and then that very cool action/suspense theme), the sounds, the shooting, etc.
But doesn’t EVE talk a bit to much? I mean “plant” had no purpose, did it (btw. proof, that the translated versions of WALL-E will suck, sorry)? Anyway, really looking forward to this now.
OMG!! That clip made me even more excited to see Wall•E!! I’m gonna see this movie in theaters way more than 5 times.
YOU CAN’T DO THAT! I’m supposed to be the crazy one who goes to see it he most times, and I was only planning 3! XD
Absolutely adored it! The plant was random, I have no idea of its significance, but don’t tell me. I want to find out myself. I can’t wait!
(Just wondering, do the other robots have personalities as well? I saw the Movie Surfers talk about M-O, and he [spoil]seems like he has thoughts as well, because robots would just do their job, but he actually can make remarks or freak out[/spoil]
You might wanna ‘re-spoilerize’ that sentence.
One question: is this a FINISHED scene from the movie?
Because I found some “errors” (yes, I’m a bit picky ):
-
The texture (or lighting) on EVE goes missing one second before the scene cuts to show the little GO-4 robot placing the plant (EVE and WALL-E looking inside the pod).
-
When the little GO-4 robot leaves you can’t hear the door sound…just the lights going out (watch the floor).
-
When WALL-E and EVE hide there’s this little thing with some lights on it. They go out slowly, GO-4 opens the pod and you see that the lights are back on. Where was the point in that? ;D
-
The computer counts down from…“20 seconds to…”, WALL-E pressing some buttons and the computer says “10 seconds!”. It was like there was something missing.
Errors 2-4 aren’t that bad but the first one…why would they show unfinished footage from a finished movie…if the first error is still in the movie than im really disappointed by Quality Control or however they call it at Pixar.
Anyway, cool scene.
EDIT: Comparison
EVE with Shader or whatever done alright:
I REALLY do hope that this clip is the one from Wondercon and the scene includes finished rendering in the final movie. There was also another little scene (few seconds long) shown on Surfers with robots approaching EVE and WALL-E and EVE simply goes missing (pop away). Or the M-O footage…the robots in the background aren’t moving. I have bad feeling about this…
You might wanna ‘re-spoilerize’ that sentence.
Oh, sorry. Thanks for telling me.
I’ve watched the clip millions of times. I love it!
Anyway, in response to Tannenschnaps, I don’t think any of the “mistakes” you are pointing out are mistakes at all. For the first “mistake,” notice how right before EVE goes hiding, her insides light up and create a glow. Then when she’s watching the GO-4 robot, she gets startled and starts glowing again. It’s a form of EVE’s expression. The other mistakes you point out are much too minor to be mistakes, which makes me believe they were done on purpose.

You’re right, the other ones are much too minor to be mistakes. The “device with lights on it” is blinking constantly. It’s ok…
BUT…EVE is not fully rendered for that one second. Look at the screenshots…it’s there for about one second (or even only a part of a second). Look at her body where her arms are “coming out” or at her back…looks a bit like…clay? It certainly looks like somekind of pre-visualization. The first screenshot is perfectly fine, the second one is not. Are you sure that we look at the same part of the clip?
The glowing thing a few seconds before is a whole different story. It’s a completely different effect (like in the trailer where EVE comes out of hibernation for the first time).
EVE doesn’t glow in that shot (because it does look cheap, nothing like glowing at all and it changes way too fast). Her whole body changes color, “look of material” and reflection within a second. Look again, it’s like pop whole different EVE. This second of EVE isn’t fully rendered.
Sorry for being a bit offensive, but IMHO one can clearly see that EVE is missing her whole “body texture” for that second. Look at the “boundary” between head and back…repeat the scene until you see it…compare the screenshots…that’s just previsualized. It’s obvious from the screenshots alone.
Anyways, I highly doubt that EVE will appear as pre-viz in the actual film. I don’t think that Pixar could forget something that obvious.
To round it up: I think Disney was too lazy or didn’t care about or even didn’t notice: they took the clip from Wondercon (the space scene, another clip during the show, weren’t finished back then also) for this Sneak Peek. The clip isn’t “new” therefore, it’s the one shown at Wondercon in February 08.
