I’m not really going to buy that release date right now since it’s from Wikipedia. But you never know though as Disney could announce that it could come out then.
Regarding on Wreck it Ralph, I can imagine that it would be on the same success as Tangled. Considering the fact that there are females out there that play video games. Although it may vary until then. I know a few people that are girls that love video games.
My only problem with Wreck it ralph is the research that Disney is going to do for video games. I hope that they do their homework by studying or even playing video games when it comes to making Wreck it Ralph. As a gamer, I have no high hopes for it. It doesn’t make it any better that they got Thomas newman(who hasn’t even composed a video game) over a video game composer to compose the music for the film. If this is labeled as a "homage’ to video games when they didn’t do their research its going to be a Tiny Toons in my book. Which I will label as an insult to video games.
I dont even trust Wikipedia! As far as I know, King of the elves was good as dead last I’ve heard. If this is back in development. Then I guess Disney is trying to compete agaisnt Aardman’s Arthur Christmas.
Yes, when the date is that far the movie is subject to being pushed forward or back. But it does confirm that it is back in production.
I really hope they do more fairy tales. But, along the lines of Aladdin and The Little Mermaid, not Princess and the Frog.
Aww, I liked The Princess and the Frog.
And they should get David Wise to compose for Wreck-It Ralph. C’mon, Disney, the dude works freelance now!
I liked Princesss and the Frog too. But I know what Virginia. More whimsical and traditional fairy tales, like Rapunzel. I’d like that too.
Exactly! In far off lands, with exotic settings and more traditional fairy tales.
Yes! I’d love that too.
I wouldn’t mind another period piece like Princess and the Frog. But not as a fairy tale. I perfer the more traditional European settings for that. But another historical setting would be nice.
I guess I have to admit, what I’m describing sounds pretty much like Brave.
I hope sometime down the road Disney will do Mort based of Terry Pratchett’s Discworld.
I’ll like more fairy tales.
Little Red Riding Hood, nuff said. Disney, make it happen!
That could be good.
I’m amazed Disney never adapted it for a full-length animated film, too!
Me neither. Unless someother studio has done it, Disney could decide to pull it off.
Who knows if they’ll EVER make another 2D movie. Someone at UD said that there isn’t a handdrawn feature in production at the moment — even John and Ron’s newest project will have “handdrawn elements”, whatever it means, and that there may not be another handdrawn feature until 2019, if at all. Disney may have decided to abandon 2D animation for good.
But all if this sounds like rumors and speculation to me, even if it was reported at the TAG blog. I can’t imagine John Lasseter would be that discouraged from stopping it since he loves it a lot. I’d like to see someone give an interview with him to ask him if that’s the case or not.
I wouldn’t really believe any rumors coming from Disney until someone from there comes out and says it.
They may have one before they. If they arn’t doing another 2D film by 2019, then they are lying about the switch between 2D and 2D every couple years.
It’s hard to know what is happening there. The Animation Guild blogspot doesn’t exactly seem like much more than rumors and whisperings, and the folks on UltimateDisney don’t know anymore than we do, just making assumptions. But I really don’t believe John Lasseter would give up on hand-drawn animation just because TPAF and WTP weren’t certified blockbusters.
