So whats the next hand-drawn(2D) film?

YES. We need more.

Geez, and Pochintas is what, 1600s? Wonder if there will ever be a future princess. Though she woulden’t alway’s be a fture princess.

^yep, 1600s! 1607, to be precise. First line in the film!

Haha, a futuristic Disney princess movie would indeed be great! Or present-day even. 8D

That could be very interesting. I prefer fairy talesque settings myself.

I hope we get a hand drawn film along the lines from Walt’s early days.

Nooo, I don’t want a present princess. Past, yes. Future, that’d work too. But not current time.

I would like a future princess if they didn’t make her look al futureisticly. Just nomral princess cloth’s.

It doesn’t matter to me if we get another one or not.

I think the issue with future/present-day princesses is the role of monarchies in our society nowadays. If the character was an outspoken, passionate politician type, then it might work, but if she was still a pretty standard princess who doesn’t really “do much,” then I can see that getting criticized.

I do, however, love to see Disney do hand-drawn movies, and I really hope that they set aside some quality stories for the medium.

If they did do a modern princess, having her decide her what she want’s to do woulden’r matter as much because woman today have more power then medeval woman did. They were seen more as objects then people.

Watching TV commercials and reading magazines convinces me that this is still true. People assume that bc women have achieved suffrage, that everything is hunky dory for women now, but we are still not treated equally in many arenas in life.

Sorry for going off topic, but women’s places in modern society is an important topic to me.

But yes, as q_o_p said, I hope they make use of the hand drawn medium more!

Yep. I hope DW’s Me and My Shadow is an indicator that the animation medium still exists.

I think it’s great that Tangled was CG. But they don’t need to abandon hand painted animation completely.

True. Like I said, I hope execs aren’t looking at Tangled’s success and thinking we like CGI films better. Pooh’s marketing was awful and was thrown out there against huge summer blockbusters (Harry Potter). It really wasn’t big screen material to begin with.

Yeah, I think Tangled is one of those movies that is better in CG.

It is one of the few where I think it really matters what media they use.

Sometimes I think Disney trys to make there 2D films to bad on purpsoe so they can only do CGI.

What? Winnie the Pooh was very sweet, and even though I’m not in love with it, Princess and the Frog is generally considered good enough.

PATF and Pooh were great films. They only suffered from poor marketing and release dates.
