I find it hard to believe that Disney would spend all the money, time, and talent to make a movie to flop, on purpose. Disney may be money loving coproration that will sequel the bejesus out of anything, but as far as their main films, they try to do the best they can.
Any company that does anything as insipid as that has a snowball’s chance in Hell doing well. And Disney has been doing pretty fricken’ well.
You guys take stuff very seriously.

I would like to see another fairy tale done hand drawn.
What about another play 2D film? Like what Lion King did with Hamlet.
They should totally do the princess and the pea. And stone soup. Just saying.
Well, it’s kind of hard not to with a post like that.

I mean, it didn’t really make any sense. Considering they have 51 animated features, a good bit of them are great.
Good point. And even if these two upcoming releases flop, they won’t stain Disney’s track record.
I’m sure they’ll be good enough, even if they don’t achieve financial standards.

Shrek’s Rumblestilskin character was forgetable imo.

Why are we talking about Shrek in a thread about Disney 2D animation? That is like kicking Walt Disney in the shins repeatedly. Shrek is THE anti-Disney. That is the entire purpose of Shrek, to poke fun of and turn Disney inside-out. It is cruel, even sinister, to even hint at Shrek being good in this thread. It isn’t good, but that’s beside the point. Somehow I get the idea that you guys print out pictures of Walt Disney and cut across his nose with scissors, laughing maiacally while you do it. That is what talking about Shrek in a 2D Disney thread is like.
