So whats the next hand-drawn(2D) film?

I can understand we shoulden’t talk much about Shrek here, it’s off topic. But if I wanna like Shrek, I’ll like it. You can’t make me not like it just because you hate it. If I like Dreamworks that most make me anti-Pixar right? Why would we cut pictures of Walt Disney, whered you even get that idea from?

Well, Shrek really is anti Disney. Even I must admit he has a point there, as it is a fact.

Anyway, I wish they would do some more traditional fairy tales.

He can’t make us think Shrek isn’t good if we like it. How would like it if I said Pixar was ruining Disney. I don’t think it’s true of course. Shrek is off topic and we shoulden’t talk about much here. But if I wanna like it, I like it.

Although most of his post sounds rediculous, I agree of us getting back to the topic at hand.

The Shrek thing is a fact. It has nothing to do with the quality of the film, but it is Disney hate, period. Stop arguing, David.

Back to topic…

I would like something along the stylization of Sleeping Beauty.

I would like to see another fairy tale or fantasy done in 2D animation.

Yes!! Fairy tales. But done traditionally.

Although Tangled was great, I didn’t have the same feel for it like Disney’s 2D fairy tales.

Really? Are you sure it isn’t nostalgia? It has a 90 on RT, and I think it’s great.

I didn’t hate the film, it was probably just myself not being used to 3D fairy tales.

I thought it was very charming.

I did too. Probably the best Disney film since Eisner left.

I think it’s the best since The Lion King.

Don’t forget Hunchback. :stuck_out_tongue:

Speaking of which, Tangled was Disney’s first success since Lion King.

Agreed, they could have done better with the character. Has anyone seen Rumpelstiltskin on Once Upon a Time? Robert Carlyle is amazing as him! It’s a deep and complex interpretation of the character, arguably the best on the show. :sunglasses:

Think they could do Romeo and Juliet? Problem with that would be quite a few changes. A big one would be Romero and Juliet can’t die.

Or how about Phantom of the Opera.

They should also do the Book of Mormon. Matt and Trey’s version.

You’re right, we’re off topic. But I do want to point out that o one is taking the right to like Shrek away from you. Another member simply said that they thought it was Disney Hate. THey’re not saying you can’t like it, they’re just providing an opinion other than your own.

Oh my Cod. That would never work, but I’d love to see it in animated form! The fact that it’s one of the msot grealy praised musicals of the last 25 years makes it perfect Disney material. But the content of the whole thing makes it opposite from Disney!

I doubt Disney would attack Mormons. It may be too offensive.

Yeah, especially since the musical doesn’t ‘attack’ Mormons. Actually, the best way to describe it is how one of the creators worded it "An Athiests’ love letter to religion’. The whole point of the musical is “Does it really matter if a religion is true, if it makes people happy and makes the world a better place?” It has agood view of religion.

Actually, it’s gotten overall well reviews from Mormons. Individual Mormons, of course the official Church released a stance against it. But Matt and Trey have both said that Mormons have come up to them, even some on their mission, and say they loved it.

But nonetheless, it’d make a bad Disney movie!

I also can’t see Disney doing something Matt and Trey related.

How about a western? I can’t think of one except for Home on the Range. If that count’s.
