I could go on and on forever! ;-p

A day in the life of an animator.

I really want to see early production shots since Brad came in and changed so much and I really want to see Brad and Jan in commentary together so we can hear both their visions and listen to them go at it about why what did or did not work.

I also really want to see a new short film!

First of all: 2 discs. That’s for sure! The only thing I look forward to as much as a Pixar release in theaters is that same release on DVD, and Cars was such a disappointment last year!

So as long as it’s 2 discs and has at least one commentary, I’ll be happy. But to be a little more specific, I think it would be great if Ratatouille had the same layout and feature content as The Incredibles DVD, just about Ratatouille.

Everything that was left off Cars! 2 Discs, commentary, character interviews, trailers, posters, art galleries, progression reels, language reels, wide and fullscreen options on the same dvd would be nice (like they had with MI and Nemo) all kinds of behind the scenes stuff, deleted scenes

WHY did they leave so much in cars!!!  :frowning:
I’d definetly like two disks, outakes, lots of easter eggs, progression reels, maybe even some games like in prevoius pixar films…not that I play them

For men, I would love to see outtakes, deleted scenes, interactive material, interviews, and easter eggs.

Anything and everything. Just pack it all in! Even if it has no relation to Ratatouille, but has something about Pixar in it, put it on the DVD! That’s what I say!

The Incredibles got a 2 disc release alone with the single disc, so hopefully since Brad Bird is at the helm, we’ll see that with Ratatouille.

One thing DEFINETLY is Cast Commentary for me.
After watching the film the first way through, you can do it again with the Cast.
I mean I’ve watched seasons of Red Dwarf (a British comedy), and again with the cast commentary, and the actors have allot of fun talking about the scenes and laughing along.

Of course it would be interesting if they did the one thing they did in The Incredibles with Mr. Incredible and…can’t recall his name, the freeze guy…but they did a commentary on a made up kids show of their super-hero selves which was rather funny heh.

I agree with lizardgirl on this matter, but my top preferences – starting from most prefered to least ā€œimportantā€ – would be these:

 • Director’s, Cast’s, and/or Animator’s Commentary
 • Behind-the-Scenes/ā€œMaking Ofā€¦ā€ footage/featurette
 • Deleted Scenes
 • Character Interviews
 • Miscellaneous Bonus Features
 • Pixar Animation Studios Tour
 • Outtakes
 • Easter Eggs (optional)

Nexas - The ā€œfreeze guyā€'s cognomen is Frozone/Lucius Best.

I would like it if Pixar teaches you how to cook for a featurette.

You know, my guess is they’ll have something like that, TSS. Good thinking.

Thanks GD.

I thought a cooking session would make sense because Ratatouille is a movie about cooking right?

Ok,

I feel dumb… what do you mean by ā€œeaster eggsā€? I take it these aren’t the little colored things

the Easter Bunny brings, right? What does this term mean in extra/movies lingo?

BorntothePurple: Easter eggs are hidden fun tidbits in DVDs, usually as a link or a button. Easter eggs provide

you fun video clips or extras. They aren’t given to you on the DVD menu screens. THey tend to pop up after a few

seconds on a menu screen. They are called easter eggs because, like the brightly colored eggs aat easter time,

you have to find them.
