Because of a disagreement with some moderators about the new* size rule, I’m not wearing any signatures again.
I won’t give you the details of the discussion, but the thing is that, after more than a year making an using my signatures, it turns out that they are too big to be acceptable. Apparently signatures that size bother a lot of members because they have to scroll an 1/8 more of the mouse wheel to read the posts. I’m not talking about a tremendously big image. For those who don’t remember the size I always wore (and to remember the classics), here’s one:
Now, if you’ve scrolled past that humongous signature and made it alive to this side of the post, I’ll give you this gift: you can always see how my next signature would have been if you visit my graphics site, at least for whatever time I’m able to remain in these forums: viewtopic.php?f=25&t=7760
For all of you out there: I can’t say how grateful I feel about the support you’ve awarded me with during all this time of graphic-making. Each of you have known me, both as a fellow member and as a moderator. Some of you may like me, and some of you may not, but probably most of you have figured what kind of person (good or bad) I’m in real life. I’m humbly proud of my work here, proud of all of you and the friendships I’ve made, proud of all these months of making logos, and I’m proud of standing up for a little more freedom in the boards, even if that means I’m going down because of it. The only thing I regret is that my last signature was such an ugly one

Well, I’m kinda sad you won’t be wearing your sigs as a boycott protest, Spirit. I’ll miss seeing them around the forums. Of course, I can always visit your thread, but it just won’t be as fun seeing your spoofs of corporate logos around. 
I’m sorry to hear that Spirit, your sigs will look just as good if they were the new size anyway. But I’m glad you’ll still be posting them on your graphic page.
Reading that just made me really upset. I’m so sorry about whatever happened, and if you end up leaving because of it please don’t. I’ll miss you so much! I hope it all works out. I’ll definitely be checking them out here no matter what

While I appreciate the effort you are making just to support me, I’m also concerned. I’m afraid that your support could be read as a form of rebellion, and as a reason to ban some of you. I wouldn’t want that to happen, specially if it’s because of me.
Now, I think you’re in the right to know why I’m protesting. It’s not a simple whim of mine because I don’t like the rule. It’s because of the negative to even discuss it, at least in a democratic way. It’s because it was never considered a big deal (to the point of most members and moderators breaking it when the new layout was released), And it’s because it’s an instance of obeying a rule simply because it has always been a rule, rather than because of the advantages it brings. It’s simply because it’s creating a too tight restriction on a website that’s just about having old plain fun, and nothing else. There were also some insinuations that I didn’t like, but those were probably just misunderstandings and are a personal thing, so that’s beside the point.
So, as a proper debate on the subject wasn’t allowed, I can’t wear a new, smaller signature on those conditions, and I’ve come to the decision of not wearing any signature at all. I’m even considering closing this board and giving you guys a link to my DeviantArt account.
That’s all.
Now that I’ve explained the overall story, I will repeat that my main concern is about you. I may get my moderator status revoked, or even get banned for dissenting opinion, but I definitely don’t wan’t you guys to put your PP accounts in peril. I appreciate the support I’m getting, and there’s still a lot of ways in which you can help me: Your kind words are the better thing I could get, so there’s no need of anything else.
Or you may, if you want, make sure that your propositions (not just about signatures, but about the site in general) are heard by moderators, and I’m sure that, in the future, everyone’s suggestions will be pondered before making hasty decisions. If that’s so, I’m sure all of this would have worked to create a site where we all can have our kind of fun.
So, as you can see, the decision the Moderator Board has made isn’t of prejudice for everyone, but just a small part of the forum, me included. So let me make my protest alone, and take by myself whatever this brings. I care too much about you to let you be in danger.
