Spring Break!

I know we can just post this under ‘Hi, my name is …’ but I thought this deserved a separate thread. Mods can delete it if they’d like.

I normally wouldn’t be doing anything for vacation, but this break I’m going on a plane to the Grand Canyon. We’ll be going on a train and a balloon tour. I’m not so hyped up about it now since I’m just trying to get through the week, but I’ll probably be more excited once we’re on the plane.

And yes, my siblings and I still fight on trips like we did when we were really young, but thank the stars for iPods! xD We’d probably kill each other without them.

I’m happy that I’m not thrown into the position of being the main photographer now - my dad’s finally going to use his new digital camera and my sister got one for her birthday. I usually feel guilty that I didn’t take enough pictures, but now that burden will be lessened a bit.

Only thing I’m worried about is the airport business - I’ve been hearing far too many horror stories about the wait lately. :stuck_out_tongue:

Okay, so enough of my chit-chat, what are the rest of you doing for Spring Break?

Oh, the Grand Canyon! Guaranteed the most beautiful hole in the ground ever!
Boy, that must have been one rush of water. LOL Glen Canyon. 8D

Spring break just doesn’t exist in the desert. It’s like, “Welcome back to the Dryest Place Populated by Man”. water…waaaterrr!

My Spring Break was exciting. First, I went to the Bay Area to attend a wedding. Two days after that, I went to Disney World. First, the Magic Kingdom, then Blizzard Beach, then I performed at a singing festival (which my school and I won First and second place) then Hollywood Studios, then Epcot, then Animal Kingdom in that order. I got back home exactly 24 hours ago.

Here in Germany Spring Break is known as Easter Break and thus, it’s always around Easter time. So my break is way over. But on the night from 30th April to 1st May is the Walpurgis Night and I’m going to go to a nice little festival in Penzlin.

A113: Well, a hot desert doesn’t bother me, seeing as it’s far too cold for me here. :stuck_out_tongue:

I didn’t realize others already had their Spring Break. That happens the same time every year, right? I must’ve forgot about that difference. I remember getting jealous of everyone else online around easter though. xD

TSS: Lucky you! I’ve been begging to go back to Disney each year since we still have tickets for Universal, but I wanna spend at least one day in the Disney parks.

Witch_of_Night: Walpurgis Night? What’s that? Sounds interesting.

You should FONY> Believe me, it is the most awesome experience to be in the theme park.

Well, you could call Walpurgis Night Halloween in Spring. Only that there a witches ans no other creatures. On this night wiches hold a festival on the Blocksberg (the highest peak of the Harz mountain) where they wait for the arrival of Spring.
Here in Germany there are some festival at many places. In Penzlin for example they hold the festival near an old castle. There is a tour through the castle. But mostly we just see the torture chamber.

TSS: Yeah, I’ve been there about three times already, once when I was five and twice most recently, two years in a row. Stinks that I had finally got a camera, a present for my 16th birthday, and I found that we weren’t going to Disney again. :stuck_out_tongue: Someday again soon, I hope. And yes it’s so wonderful there - and the people there are so nice and you can tell they love their jobs, part of the reason why I wanted to get into the Disney college - a job in the park sounds like a dream.

Witch_of_Night: That sounds so awesome! Wish I could go to one of those. I keep hearing so many great things that are held, and they’re always in a different country. :stuck_out_tongue: Someday, I hope to travel to see the old castles in Europe - and Stonehenge - though I can’t get close it would be a wonder to see.

I am kinda sad that my spring break is over though. I always wanted a longer break, at least two or three weeks.

Easter was nice. Sailed around the Caribbean aboard the Stavros S Niarchos, and made lots of friends, saw lots of animals, went swimming in waterfalls, and cleaned toilets. All good fun.

Oooh, the ship has its own Wiki page- en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stavros_S_Niarchos_(ship

Everyone sounded like they enjoyed their Easter holidays! It’s like the last proper break before the dreaded summer exams, so it’s good to make the most of it.

If you liike Wickedpedia so much, why do you call it Wiki?

What’s so “Oooh”?

Swimming in waterfalls? Did it hurt?

Swimming in waterfalls doesn’t hurt. It feels like one nice shower. I personally enjoy it.

Oh, I see. I live in this desert and have this lack of knowledge about anything to do with water. 8D 8D 8D

…Because it’s easier to write? And I was just surprised that the Stavros had its own page. I didn’t realise it was that well-known.

It didn’t hurt, really…Aside from the poor girl who knocked her head when she jumped into the waterfall, but she didn’t really jump from the right side. I was too much of a wimp to jump.

Oh, look! Wickedpedia has a page on Mr. Stripeys! That must mean they’re well-known!

xDDD

Well, I’ll be leaving tomorrow. :stuck_out_tongue: Don’t know whether to be excited or not - I think I’m just mad that I won’t have a week to work on my novel, make music videos, or just plain mess around. :stuck_out_tongue:

And I jump back into college after this week! :open_mouth: Yipee. Not to mention I have to run like a madman back home on Tuesday to register asap.

But, I’ll look on the bright side of life - I’ll have plenty pictures, and I’ll re-experience flying. Helps to know what it’s like if you’re a writer. I can’t remember - I was five last time I’d flown in a plane. And I get to go in a hot-air balloon! Double the fun.

I’ve worried about crashing (very briefly) but hey, if I die like that it’ll make for a much more interesting death than dying of old age. xD

So, I guess this is it for now. I’ll be on again next Saturday, preferably.

So long, and thanks for all the fish! xD

Glad it didn’t hurt, LG.

Have a safe trip, FONY! I look forward to the future report detailing your adventures.
