Surf's Up

Welp, I just saw it. That was actually pretty cool!

Hilarious, too, I must say. I love how they created the film like a documentary-type features. (snigger)

Looks like a blast! I’m definitely going to be seeing this one…

Yeah I wanna see this film. Here are the reasons I wanna

see this film:

 1. The Co-director of Toy Story 2 is directing this film.

*Jon Heder voices a character named Chicken Joe. *Jon Heder is

one of my favorite actor.

Cool – Yeah, I’m going to go

watch it right now!

Yeah, I wanna see it for just the same reasons JV! Toy

Story 2 was my favorite Pixar movie to date and Ash Brannon seems like sucha creative guy!

Yep, Ash Brannon will be

great as one of the directors for this film. Is he still part of the Pixar family?

Bill - Yeah, I wondered that too. His Wikipedia

article says nothing about that…

My guess is Pixar is pretty crowded: They’ve got plenty of directors

with great ideas. He may have gone to Sony Animation to get "some

room"

With the release of the film

being this week, is anyone going to go see it Friday?

I might see it on Saturday , since the first day will be more corwded than the second

I remember when Cars came out I got the last two seats in the theater …

I’m definitely going to see it this Friday and/or

Saturday. It’s about time they released a “dude”-related film! :stuck_out_tongue:

I am probably not. I might next week,

but I have to wait for what others say about this movie first.

Surf’s Up is the only

“penguin movie” that appeals to me. Sorry, Dash.

I bought both

promotional concession items on the first day we made them available for purchase at work. They were worth the

$10.25 and the looks from my co-workers. Haha.

Here’s the popcorn

bag:

I’m a sucker for movie merchandise.

;-p

PV - Haha

– awesome! Aren’t the character designs great? I love Mikey…

My favorite

character will probably be Chicken Joe.

What about you guys?

Ha ha! That is funny. Major

“ocean” picture. Really cute tagline right there.

One reason I don’t like Happy

Feet is because the penguins look too real. The characters of Surf’s

Up are funky!

I love Cody’s design, how his legs resemble beach trunks.

:sunglasses:

~~=oP

I probably going to watch this movie the morning it comes out with my older brother.

PV - Yeah,

exactly! “Funky”.

Haha – I’m gonna have to look at that again…

PV: What is wrong with the penguins looking too real? I think they look cuter in Happy Feet than in Surfs

Up. Surfs up, they not only look funky, but also goofy.

Even Brad Bird would agree with

me, TSS.

"…to create photographically real humans. To me that is the

dumbest goal that you could possibly have. What’s wonderful about the medium of animation isn’t recreating

reality. It’s distilling it."

He used the word “humans” in this quote, but his notion

applies to everything.

You can just look at my new sig.

~~=oP

I love that new siggy

you got there PV!!!

Exactly. He has it

right on the money there. What’s the fun of seeing something extremely similar to beings/things that you already

see everyday in real life? It’s more creative and entertaining to conjure up/view a “distilled”

version of an entity, as Mr. Bird so eloquently describes it.

Nice new signature,

PV! I see the “beach trunk” legs now.
