Sweet Treats!

I have commented on your sig in the ‘Who’s Got the Best Signature’ thread, Rachel. What can I say about it? Well, “when I close my eyes, I see it glisten!”
 Sorry, couldn’t help quoting the song.
And I can’t wait to see what you come up with this Hallow’s Eve! (Come to think of it, that last word of the original name of ‘Halloween’ gives me an idea… heheh :sunglasses: )

Pixfan - Yes, I agree. I was thinking about changing my avatar for months beforehand, but I’m glad I did it - it does feel refreshing, yeah! Thanks for the tip on how to fade text in Photoshop - my graphics will look slightly more interesting now. =)

thedriveintheatre - Thanks, Andre! Ah, so those are the lyrics! I love that song, but some of the words are hard to figure out. Oooh, I look forward to seeing the Hallow’s “EVE” graphic of yours. You should really make your own graphics thread, dude. =)

You can make fonts fade on Picnik.com as well. Though, I do hate that they have mostly fancy-types and not basic … there’s not much to choose from on there but they are rather pretty.

thanks again Rachel…i liked this one the best…

Thanks for the website suggestion, FONY. I’ll use it when I get my broadband Internet up and running again.

You’re welcome, Al-Bob.

A bunch of Pixar-related Halloween signatures… At first I didn’t think Pixar had that many references to anything evil or dark, but I was surprised when I started looking. Hope you guys enjoy these. :smiling_imp:

Anyone can use 'em, I don’t mind - just don’t tell people you made them, or use them outside this forum. Thanks. =)

Nice sigs, Rachel. I kinda noticed there’s a certain amount of morbidity in Pixar films too. You just have to know where to look…
And now I see the ‘skull’ on Earth from Wall-E. That’s mighty uncanny…and a good metaphor on the filmmakers’ part!
By the way, the third ‘electrifying’ sig was actually my previous avatar one week ago…I may put it on again closer to Halloween, so I’d like you to know it’s mere coincidence. Guess great minds think alike! :sunglasses:

Those are really neat! I especially love the one of Ego’s office. Not only with the coffin shape, but the red coloring really sets the tone.

Those are nice Rachel. But how is the last one Halloween related? All I see on the Earth is North America.

Holy cow rachel. THey look really really cool! Very clever shots with all of them. I like it. THese are all very clever. Nice work!

They look really nice and dark, rachel! Good job on finding those.
I know the last one is supposed to be an expression of a skull, but I don’t really see it. Can anyone help me see the skull? Like which angle is it facing or where are the eyes supposed to be represented? I want to see what it looks like in that viewpoint.

Well, after Rachel mentioned it looked like a skull, I instantly ‘saw’ it. I could copy her sig and put some pointers for you guys, but I’m far too lazy. :stuck_out_tongue:

Just look at the Gulf of Mexico, that’s bordered between the Mexican ‘isthmus’ (the narrow bit that connects North America to South) and Florida (the bit that’s jutting out) and you get your skull’s eye. USA and Canada forms the skull’s forehead. The way the shadow lies across the face of the earth creates the impression of a half-hidden left eye and nasal cavity.

Very cool. Almost like a Hidden Mickey, albeit a grosteque one. Now if I could see a screenshot of Earth after the human’s return, to juxtapose against this one…

Can you see it now?

Wow, yes, now I can see it! That’s cool and creative of Pixar.
Now I see it all the time, just like when I see a constellation once, I then see it the rest of the night.

I see it now. I wonder if the skull image was done consciously or whether it appeared unintentionally.

Thanks for feedback, peeps. I really appreciate it. =)

Heh. Yeah, I noticed that avatar you wore. I was like “Darn, I hope Andre doesn’t think I copied his avatar.” I was actually going to make that signature last year, but couldn’t get a hold of a good copy of Ratatouille in time… but I ended up making this batch a month ago when I was very bored. Yes, great minds do think alike. =)

I highly doubt it would a mistake… every pixel of Pixar’s films are planned way in advance. And also, at the end of the movie, the shade is moved which makes the skull disappear, which is meant to represent a more positive future for Earth. Pretty cool.

That reminds me of watching Toy Story 2 (the opening sequence) a handful of times, and then finding out that Luxo Jr. is hidden amongst the stars - once you spot it, you can’t not see it.

A tribute to that 20 second capsule of pure irony that is the track on the WALL•E soundtrack called “BNL”. I tried to stick with the same colour and style of the Buy n Large corporation, but couldn’t find a good quality version of the BNL logo, that’s why it looks a bit crummy. But I like wearing a signature that is simple, I must say.

Really? Wow, Pixar movies are so full of self-references! I know this should go in the ‘Pixar In-Jokes’ thread, but anyway, on my viewing of TS2 last week, I noticed a couple of the shorts (including Tin Toy!) as Ham flipped through the channels. I would never have noticed that when I first watched it as a kid, because I hadn’t known of the existence of the shorts then! Sneaky Pixar!

As for your new sig, I think it’s okay . Simple and effective. I don’t really think the logo looks crummy. What’s the font, Arial?

I like it rachel. It is simple, but the point is very clear.

Love the Hallowe’en sigs, Rachel! I would’ve thought it would be really difficult to make Hallowe’en Pixar related signatures, since nothing immediately spooky comes to mind (aside from Ego’s coffin shaped room, which is just awesome), but you’ve managed to find some really good screenshots.

I’m liking your new signature, as well. Every time I look at it, the little BnL jingle comes straight into my head.

thedriveintheatre - Yeah, there are plenty of in-jokes in Toy Story 2, some of them you can never catch until you go through the movie frame by frame, or someone points them out to you and then you’re like, “I can’t believe I ever missed that!” Thanks, my aim was to make the signature simple, much like the BNL brand. The font I used was called ‘Estrangelo Edessa.’

TSS - Thanks, dude. =)

lizardgirl - Yeah, you’d be surprised at how many spooky references are in Pixar films when you think about it. Thanks!

Mission accomplished. =)
