I love CGI. Don’t kill me, people, but CGI looks more tangible. Although, I do fantacize with the thought of Disney making more 2D movies, I can wait for the new Pooh Bear movie.
I love CGI if it’s been used well. If it’s used badly, it looks bad. That’s the case with any and all animation, or filmmaking in general. We all know there is some pretty ugly hand animation and stop motion out there, if you dig hard enough.
I may have said this once before, but to all the people whining about this movie being CGI: Can you imagine what the hair would look like in 2D? It’d be a creepy blob, and if not then it would take infinite time, money, and manpower to make it look good at all. It’s in CG, it still looks great, it’s appropriate for the needs of the story, deal with it.
That, and CGI allows for shots and abilities neither 2D or live action can do, like Buzz’s reflection in his helmet in Toy Story. Think about that.
I agree about how CGI can be very beneficial. I love the artistry of it. I’m always amazed when I watch WALL-E, the scene where WALL-E and EVE first communicate and introduce each other. It’s absolutely beautiful the way that the fire reflects off of EVE, very detailed. I could never picture that movie traditionally.
CGI rocks!!! I love all mediums, but still.
CGI is gorgeous and artistic when done well, such as Pixar movies and Tangled. When done badly, it does indeed look cheap and soulless. There is a big difference between this:
And this:
But really, its no different with 2D. Like I said before, there are terrible traditionally animated movies. Like these:

What’s the second picture of, I can’t see it?
But that Space Chimp one is just…sad.
Rac, I can’t see the second image.
The worst CGI I’ve seen is the Star Wars prequels. It looks like a video game.
EDIT: Oh, I see Wall-E now. He’s so cute!!
I see it now too now.
I think the worst is “Alpha and Omega”
^agreed. I saw a poster for A+O in Fuddrucker’s yesterday, and, well, it looked really bad. My five year old brother could do better.
None of those are as bad as the terrible TRADITIONALLY ANIMATED Titanic The Legend Goes On!

Ok, I’ll stop shamelessly promoting my favorite internet comedian now. Maybe.
It’s okay, I like it when people randomly do that.
Anyway, if I go see a movie this holiday season, it’s going to be this.
IncredigirlVirginia: Good, because I’m about to do it again!
He also does amazing Bum Reviews of current movies.

I hope he’ll do a Tangled one. It’ll be sure to be hilarious!
“Its because I’m black, isn’t it?”
“Well, its the 1920’s, so…sure!”
So, I’ve been following the discussion board on IMDb a lot lately, I’m sure I’ve mentioned it plenty of times XD
A lot of people who have seen the screening who have posted on there really enjoyed it. They say it’s even better than Princess and the Frog! We’ll have to see. I ADORE that movie…
Can you guys believe it’s less than two months away? WOOHOOO!
Team Tangled! <3
LOL! I love his Princess and the Frog review. It’s probably my favorite one.
With all honesty, that was one of the funniest thigns I have seen. EVER. I love the Nostalgia Critic, I sat through all 20 minutes of this!
Those reviews are hilarious. XD
“Nothing you can say can stop me from loving you.”
“I’m a man.”
“Whoops! Gotta go!”
