Down the very bottom of the mock-up page it should say “balloons”, instead of “baloons”.
Fantastic job sir! I love it, it fits the current site very well! I do agree though, that I think the overall site needs a bit sprucing up. I’d love to see that done. It looks okay already, but it could make the place feel much nicer if you gave a more unique, stylish look. If they let you start with that, I wish you luck! Maybe set up a bunch of skins for the whole site (rather than just the banners and such) for each film, essentially changing each theme. Just an idea though, this is the suggestions thread. I’d also keep the option for the standard style, for those who are comfortable with it already.

Oh, wow, Phileas! Your Up theme is amazing, it’s absolutely perfect! Even the little details, like using the grape soda badge, are brilliant! If you could do the same for the other Pixar skins, this site would look even more attractive to new members and browsers. Great work!
Okay, I’ve stumbled into a problem with the “new theme” concept. I understand Thomas previously wanted to upgrade our current phpBB2 forum to phpBB3.
If Thomas wants me to do a new look, I’m quite certain he’ll be asking if I can move the forums to phpBB3. On top of that, there’s requests that the “old theme” can be kept and available as an option. Unfortunately, due to the complex and irritating differences of phpBB2 and phpBB3, it’s virtually impossible to convert a phpBB2 theme to phpBB3, unless you have a lot of time on your hands, which I don’t, and quite frankly (sorry if I seem rude. I don’t mean to be), on a theme that needs a makeover. It’s highly advised by expert forum coders that you “start afresh” for phpBB3 theme-wise. I may have a good eye for design (as you all so claim 
), but I’m no miracle worker.
Again, sorry if I seem really rude & arrogant, I really don’t mean to be, and I appreciate that you guys want to keep the old theme as an option for usability reasons, and as much I want to fufill that option, I really can’t. Sorry about that.

Thanks for being so open to help with the whole board, Phileas. i don’t mind a full redesign as long as it’s top notch. seeing as you’re pretty amazing at Web Design (something I’m not too bad at but have no time to pursue) there’s no question that it’ll be really good, Anyways, I’m awaiting Thomas’ response on the Upcoming Pixar matters. And to those of you who want to be able to revert to the old theme, I advise you to please see past that and (not to be rude) get over it. We have to be open to change and if it’s for the betterment of the site but takes a little time to get used to, it’ll be worth it in the long run.
Note: A little thought concerning the new design. Please contact PV to get the official Pixar Planet logo, I’m hoping that doesn’t change. Also, I hope the font of the headers (on Pixar Planet’s home page for example) stays the same or is in the same font-family. Besides that, go crazy!

I like how you kept the banner with lots of color, it just looks great! I also like the details you put into it, and that 5 million are hidden and you need to check your inbox. I do like how you kept the slanted lines on the side, that’s one of my favorite things about the site actually, it looks more-er-less the same on each computer I go on.
phpBB2and phpBB3? So, if we convert, we won’t get any movie theme from Wall-E back? That’d be a bummer. What is the difference though (aside from difficulty)? Is it faster or sleeker or how so?
I don’t mind a convert, as long as the older themes are retained. Or if Phileas is up for it, I don’t mind a redesign of the earlier themes too, if it’s okay with the original creator (whoever it is, I’d like to know!).
Love the mock-up, Phileas, especially the funny thread title and usernames (Thanks for the [spoil]fanvid compliment[/spoil]! ).
TDIT - I’m sorry to say, but if we do have a rehaul, the older themes can’t be retained.
I know this is causing quite a stir, and I apologise for not being able to keep the old themes if we have a new one, but the new themes will still be easy to use, and there will still be the selection of movie-themed styles to choose from, a la current style, not just the current layout though.
thewisecookiesheet - there’s improvements in stability and general performace. But the crucial part is keeping the board secure, as phpBB3 is much more secure than phpBB2 and security support will stop in the future, so eventually if I develop for phpBB2 then I am simply putting off a task that could must be done eventually.
Of course, this is all at the discresion of the Brains’ Trust, and they have the final word. I’m awaiting their replies ATM.

Update guys: Yet to hear back from The Brains Trust. The thing is they’re virtually disbanded… The two users that can make this happen because they have the administrative privilages are Mell_O_Drama & Dash. Dash is seldom seen, and I haven’t seen Mell_O_Drama ever since I came on to this site. In fact, the only Brains Trust member I can get to is bawpcwpn, and, unfortunately, he does not have the privilages enough to make the magic happen. So I guess it’s just waiting for something to happen. Thanks for your patience guys, totally appreciated
One thing id like to add is i wish there was more contrast between the text and the background. I often times find myself squinting at the screen to try and figure out what im trying to read.

Well the posts are black. In the layout of the forum itself, it’s often times grey. Like, in the header of the page, and the sub-text under it.
You know what I just noticed is that once you reach like 500 posts, your posting status stays that way until like, 1000 posts or something. It seems like such a stretch between changing your posting status. I don’t know, maybe it’s just me feeling like it takes forever to change it, but maybe there should be a couple more benchmarks from 100 posts through 1000. And I’m not sure if it’s within programming ability, but I’d like to see active member’s posting status match the Pixar film they seem to gravitate toward the most. Like, it’s cool and stuff to have diversity, but it would just be neat to have your posting status match your favorite movie(s), too.
