As I’m sure most of you already know, critically acclaimed director Guillermo del Toro is directing a new Disney movie based on the classic attraction at the Disney Parks, The Haunted Mansion!

This movie is totally separated from the awful Eddie Murphy film of the same title, and is supposed to be a very scary movie!

For those informed of the ride at the Disney Parks and avid Disney Parks fans (as I am), you might know of the Hatbox Ghost, who will be the main concentration of this film!

As for me, I’m SUPER excited for this film as the ride is my all time favorite ride at Disney World. I’m really interested to see how scary this film will be and even more pumped to see how accurate it is to the actual theme park ride.

This sounds great! I’m not a fan of scary movies either, but it’s The Haunted Mansion! I’ll definitely have to see this.

Yeah…weird. I liked that one, though, it always made me laugh. I guess they wanted a more creepy take to it…

Yeah, there is. But this one appears to be a scary movie, and the other one was comedic (supposedly).

I like the Eddie Murphy because it’s funny, but I’m uninterested in this.

Yeah, I never saw the Eddie Murphy version, but I want to because I like Eddie Murphy. I just didn’t know if it was a funny movie or not.

I actually somewhat liked the Eddie Murphy one, probably just because I’m a huge fan of the ride.

And I’m glad to see they’re taking a scary side to the movie. Although I would never see it if it wasn’t made by Disney. I hate scary movies!

This is awesome news. Disney making an actual hard-core horror movie? I think I fell in love. Besides Guillermo del Toro being my favorite Spanish director, his movies are full of such rich atmosphere and all his characters have lots of thought put into them. While Pan’s Labrynth is incredible, my favorite of his is The Orphanage, (essentially the Haunted Mansion movie in itself), and if this movie is anything like that was, it might just be the best (non-Pixar) movie of the year.

So I watched the Eddie Murphy one today! It was actually pretty scary for a movie that was aimed (or what I thought was) at children. It makes me even more curious for what this new, scary one will be about.

I love the Eddie Murphy one. It is scary, kind of, but I thought it was funny, too. It does make me curious… I’m excited for this movie!
