Looks like ya beat me to it Vi, but yeah, everything you said, I totally had in mind.[spoil] I will say though that my favorite part was the fight scene with Violet and Xander. Finally, Violet gets some action. I like it. I hope that she gets her own adventure too.[/spoil]
This issue was really suspenseful I can not wait to see what happens next also.
Thanks TSS ! But, yeah, I totally agree. [spoil]I loved seeing Violet getting more action and would like to see a story centered around her.[/spoil]
And, oh shoot! I forgot the ending! So, anyway…[spoil] So Bob and Dash are at home, still not realizeing that Violet ain’t there. And Bob’s still obsessing over this “scum bag” that got away. Dash wakes up, and asks his dad what he’s doing. When Bob tells him, Dash comes up with an idea, “Why can’t you just track the technology that was stolen?”
Bob quickly dismisses him, “Son, it’s not that simple. That’s impossible.”
Meanwhile, I’m thinking, “Uh, Dash is right…” And not two minutes later, Doc Sunbright calls Bob saying he’s now able to track the item that was stolen. .
[spoil]As another story arc comes to a close, I now give you my review on the 11th issue of the Incredibles comic book series from BOOM.
First off, I was really drawn into the story arc of Violet and Xander. I was surprised that Violet wanted to try to fight the big robotic t-rex. I know she got a confidence boost after the movie, but now, I think she’s at the point where she could be a little too confident.
Anyways, Violet and Xander get eaten, but are safe thanks to Violet’s force field. Dash and Mr. Incredible sees the robot and heads toward it. Dash gets there first, and rescues VIolet just in time before their dad arrives. Dash puts the pieces together and finds out that Violet was responsible for stealing the stuff in Sunbright’s offic. Violet pleads Dash not to tell (almost to the point of tears). I guess when you’re desperate for love, you’ll do anything. It was a great ending to that part, especially realizing that they forgot about jack-Jack in the end. That gave me a laugh.
Helen’s story kinda had an anti-climatic ending. First off, we meet Xerek. He looks so different from what Brad Bird originally pitched. And his motive of luring Elastigirl in to his place is to prove to her that her decision to marry was foolish and wrong. I’m thinking, "you went through all of this trouble just to attempt to prove a pathetic point when Helen has already moved on with her life about you? That’s stupid.
The ending was unexpected for me. At the end, Xerek was taken to prision. And he meets up with Mezzmerella and she informs them that they have taken over the prission, probably under the order of The Unforgivables. I really can’t wait to see the Unforgivables in action.
Overall, this was a pretty good story arc.[/spoil]
Haven’t read the comics, but it’s interesting to hear that they’ve used the film’s original main villain before Syndrome. Wish I could see what he looks like.
12 came in pretty quickly. Apparently some info-package left behind by Everseer years ago plays a part in this new arc. [spoil]And we got the bulk of the family being abducted by some unseen plant controlling villain. I’m hoping said villain’s turns out to be a Poison Ivy pastiche much like how we’ve got a Gorilla Grodd nod and a few others in earlier issues[/spoil]
[spoil]We see two stories brewing here. First off, Bob and Lucius’s friendship gets tried when a mysterious book from Everseer makes its way to the two Supers. Questions and tensions start to arise. Quetions concerning Everseer’s predictions and about his death, and about the late Glory Days Supers.
meanwhile, we see the ladies, Violet and helen, shopping. Violet acts all excited for a dress, leading Helen to figure out that Violet is dating Xander, the son of her archnemisis. Violet looks like she is about to have a panic attack, but helen explains that she knew. She tells her that it’s wrong to keep secrets from her family. Very ironic of her to say that though.
In the end, we have a plant monster attack the family. Bob and Lucius try to fight it back, but it captures helen and Violet in the end.
I really loved this issue. I’m now very excited for it.[/spoil]
That’s a shame IncredigirlVirginia. I like the comic series. I would think you would like the current arc right now. It’s main theme is Bob and Helen, and about trusting each other, and not lying to each other.
If you need help I know a fantastic website that I ordered all of my Incredibles comics from it is called MyComicShop.com. The comics there are extremely cheap.
