The Inevitable Pirates of the Caribbean 2 thread ;)

Ragetti and Pintel rocked my socks- I was so glad to see them appear in this film, hope they’re in the next as

well.

What made me sad was the

dissapearance of Murdock and Mullory!! Oh, I guess they didn’t survive that hurricane near Tripoli . . .

I missed them too! Maybe they’re rumsoaked in Tortuga?

XD

They were the two guards that stopped Jack Sparrow from

boarding the Interceptor in the first one … or at least tried to … right?

Yeah, I was wondering

where they went. They were good for some comic relief  They should’ve kept them … just a small scene would

do for me

I thought it was entertaining. As most

people have said, not an epic for the ages or anything, but fun and pretty good. I hated that it was two and a

half hours long and left us with a cliffhanger at the end! I loved the slapsticky action scenes. That was a lot

more interesting than just out-and-out chasing and swordfighting.

My friends have dubbed me

“Executive Movement Coordinator to Mr. Depp” because I do a very good impression of the Jack Sparrow

run. I don’t know whether to be proud or embarrassed!

ROFL! Be proud, that’s quite an accomplishment!!

I was a bit

disappointed that Ana-Maria wasn’t in it, but Tia Dalma more than makes up for it, she’s such an excellent

character.

LOL! You love [i]Cutthroat

Island[/i] and you know it! It’s the biggest collection of pirate clich?s in A SINGLE FILM! A true

accomplishment!

Bill Nighy as Davy Jones was just too cool- I had a feeling

I knew who he was- wasn’t till the credits that I realized. Lol, I just recognized his eyes and facial

expressions  The CGI they used for the tentacles was awesome. And when he played the synthesizer with his

tentacles … xD reminded me a bit of the Skittles commercial, I think it was- with the man picking up the

skittles with his long beard. xD lol

None of the actors were told that it was going to be

[spoil]Barbossa[/spoil] – they were actually told it was going to be Anamaria.

But

I would have enjoyed Anamaria alongside Tia Dalma . . . I mean, wasn’t SHE Jack’s new First mate? How’d Gibbs

get that position?

Oh . . . such a great film, and I love how in the very beginning he says, "Why is

the rum always gone?" then stand up, act woozy laugh and say, “That’s why!”

I thought it was going to be

Anamaria too honestly! Throughout the film I turned to my friend and was like "Am I missing something? What

happened to her?" – They could have AT LEAST explained her disappearence. It seemed like everyone was back

except for her - and there wasn’t really a reason for her to leave. Especially when everyone else stayed … did

the actress just not want to return or something?

Did anyone figure out how long after the first film this

film was? A year? A month? Anything?

Pirates 2 was a great

movie. Sad to say, I like the first one better. I think it is because it has more swordfights.

Yeah Davy Jones was awesome. Throughout most of

the movie I could not tell it was him. I knew it was him but I could not tell. He sounded nothing like Billy

Nighy except for a few things here and there and only a few little facial expressions. An excellent performance

in my opinion.

On the subject of timeline: It sounds like DMC (Dead

Man’s Chest) took place about six or more months after CBP (Curse of the Black Pearl).

That’s not exact,

but it does allow:

For Will & Elizabeth to plan for a wedding
For Jack & his crew to sail to

Tripoli and back
For Norrington to chase Jack to Tripoli and [spoil]get hit by that hurricane

(which is why there was no Dauntless in this movie , I’d imagine)
For Norrington to resign as Commodre after

returning to Port Royal . . .
. . . and in three months or so for Lord Beckett to find Port Royal with no

Commodore.[/spoil]

To me it sounds like at LEAST six months.

The movie was

great. The only part that scared me is Davy Jones, and his other creepy crew. The Flying Dutchman was scary

too.

Does anyone know when the

3rd one is going to be released? I heard it was going to be May 2007. Anyone got an idea?

I’ve heard the same, May 2007. Not

that long, either!

Isn’t it great that every summer we got a Pirates film, we got a PIXAR one as

well?

Oh the Flying Dutchman . . . yeah just creepy when it sank down and

everything . . .

Can someone explain to me this Davy

Jones character?

It’s quite simple really: In Pirate Lore, he’s the Lord of the Seven Seas, or something

close to that. He’s viewed as a Devil-like creature, who allows someone who’s dying or dead to avoid the

afterlife by allowing them to serve him for 100 years. In that time, they sail aboard his ship, the

Flying Dutchman. He also has the power to control an ancient sea monster, known as

the Kraken.

Now, there’s some other facts that involve how he CAME to be Davy Jones we all know and love,

as well what the conditions are when you serve him, but that would be definite spoilers, so I would just suggest

you see the movie as soon as possible.

singsong voice

I’ve got a jar of di-irt! I’ve got a jar of di-irt! And guess

what’s inside it!!

xD

Cracked me up.

He kinda creeped me out in the movie. His

physique was rather. . . unique. I wonder, what is this about “Davy jones’s Locker?”
