welcome back red!

So, I’m back from Cali! I actually can’t tell too much about the trip, besides the fact that it was AWESOME! The highlights were, I ran into Pete Docter and Jonas Rivera very shortly at a nearby IHOP, I got a tour, along with Mitch, led by Mike Frederickson, Cat Hicks, and Lindsay VanderGalien, got to go through the Up gallery, had lunch, and spotted Bob Peterson, Pete Sohn, John Lasseter, and Bradford Smith, and toured a bit more of the studio. After that, I started browsing the Pixar store, ran into Ronnie Del Carmen, who signed my copy of “My Name is Dug”, had a great chat, and we left. We headed for Fenton’s, ate there, watched Up that night, and said goodbye to Mitch. I got to go back the next day for lunch, and ended up running into Lee Unkrich and John Lasseter just before they left the studio. Shook hands with both of them, and went inside. I got to go say hi to Bob Peterson while I was in line for lunch, and I actually ended up spending the entire lunch with him! Was really amazing. Said hi to Ronnie again, got to see the RenderFarm, and finally left. Also spotted Ed Catmull.

These encounters were INSANE! Absolutely mind blowing trip, for sure. Best of my entire life.

I’m glad you had a fun time ffdude! Welcome back! We missed ya.

Hi everyone, I’m Paul, 32, father of 3, from the north of England!

I’ve been heavily into animation my whole life. A Disney fan since my first trip to the cinema aged 4 to see The Fox and the Hound, a Pixar fan since Toy Story and mad on Looney Tunes as a kid. I’m really into the Ghibli films too, as well as having a fondness for the 70’s and 80’s kids shows of my youth. I just love the art form and John Lasseter is my hero.

This site is brilliant, I’ve been visiting for a while and thought it was high time I started contributing so here I am!

Welcome to the boards, Deszo! You sound like quite the animation fan, and I’m glad you decided to join.

Welcome Deszo! I used to love Looney Tunes when I was a kid… and still do!
