Hey there annarborjack to the Pixar Planet forums! Great to see you here!
Ant is the name of the rank of the posting system here. Think of it as “Junior Member” (the generic name that appears on other forums who don’t really give a dang about their ranking systems). As you keep on posting, the rank will gradually increase. Hopefully I don’t give you the motivation to spam though
Adding a picture to a sig - you’ll need to host the picture off-site using a image hosting site like Imageshack (imageshack.us), or, if you have your own server / hosting for your website, you can upload your photo there and link it.
Use the IMG function to display your photo. Example:
Welcome back, Pixar.rocks! Nice to see you on the boards again.
And welcome to the boards, annarborjack! The reason it says ‘ant’ is because it’s like a post count status thing, so as you post more and more it changes to different levels. For adding a picture to your signature, this thread should be of some help to you- The ‘How To…’ Thread, though the gist of it is basically that you have to upload your picture to a website such as Photobucket, and then copy and past the URL into the signature box where you edit your profile, wrapping tags around the URL. Hope that helps!
Hiya! I’m JediGal. My friends call me Minna Mouse as well.
As you can see by the screen name, I am a huge Star Wars fan. I’ve loved Disney films ever since I was little, and have always gone to Disney World at Orlando, FL with my family and friends. But my love of Pixar films started when Toy Story came out. My older brother and I dressed as Buzz and Woody for Halloween, we forced our parents to get the Toy Story toys from McDonalds, and we got the Buzz and Woody toys for Christmas. I was about 4 or 5 years old during that time. I’m 18 years old right now. I’m graduating high school in a couple of months. And every film Pixar has made throughout those years have never let me down. I hope someday to follow the great minds of Pixar and join them in helping make the greatest works of art I’ve ever seen.
I found this club on dA (deviantArt) and join PixarPlanet there, then finally decided to join the forums here. Hopefully I will get a chance to share some of my Pixar fanart to everyone.
Well, I hope I’ll fit in as a Pixar fanatic and share all my opinions and thoughts of the films.
Thanks for reading!
Honestly, I’m away for two days and I miss all the new people!
Anyway, hi to Annarborjack and JediGal it’s a pleasure to meet you both and welcome to Pixar Planet. I’m fairly new myself and I’ve found it to be a very friendly place.
I’m a dance major, and I take art classes whenever I can. I’m interested in animation, and naturally would love to work with Pixar one day (who wouldn’t, right?). My goal within the next year is to learn enough animation to be able to put a portfolio and demo reel together to try to get an internship for next summer. I know quite a lot about movement, telling a story through movement and acting, and weight, texture and dynamics and such, in movement and drawing, so I’m hoping that I can bring that into animation and learn enough about it on my own. I’m hoping the dance background will make me stand out a bit. Who knows!
Anyway, that’s why I’m here. I’m hoping to gain some knowledge from yall, and perhaps some constructive criticism, as I will be teaching myself.
I’m excited to get to know yall! I’ll find a nice avatar one day.
I’ve been trying to pick a favorite movie, and I really just can’t. If I absolutely had to, I’d say Toy Story 2, but it makes my heart hurt to tell Monsters, Inc, The Incredibles, Wall*E, and Ratatouille that they’re not my favorite.
Welcome to the boards, laaane! That’s cool that your experience in dance and acting and the movement of bodies helps with animation- I never thought about it like that. Hope you have a nice time on here!
