Anyone else get it? or plan to get it? I got it yesterday and I
learned interesting things about that movie. (also, there’s a Cars trailer on it. Nothing different though)
They’re planning on making a Little Mermaid 3. At first it was assumed that Ariel was gonna be blonde. Sebastian
was going to be a stuffy British crab. Ursula is Triton’s sister. Just some random fun fact there.
I?m not going
to get it.
Is it the same trailer that is on
Disney.com under DVD & video?

There’s a
Cars trailer on it?! I’m getting it!
Yeah, I was thinking of getting it (eventually)…
The Little Mermaid is one of my favorite old Disney movies… we had to throw away
our old ancient VHS of it, so I definitely want to own it again.
The special features seem pretty
sweet…
I pre-ordered it on Saturday, but I can’t go out and pick it up until
Friday.
The Little Mermaid is one of Disney’s greatest achievements. I think it’s my mom’s favorite
Disney movie (if you don’t count The Nightmare Before Christmas). She still thinks that the songs from TLM are
the best.
Slightly off-topic, Ariel was the only Disney “Barbie doll” I cared for. She was so
cool because she had beautiful red hair and her mermaid tail could slip off of her legs and make her a human.
sniff I miss those days.
~~=oP
I love the Little Mermaid. Shame about the Little Mermaid 2. shakes head
I’ll get it. It’s such a stunning and beautiful movie. (Alan Menken is soooooo awesome
)
I just got The Little Mermaid on DVD and I
must say it’s even better then before . The best 2-d Disney film besides Lion King .
I WILL NOT
be buying Little Mermaid 3 … it looks horrible .
I’ve never really
liked it much - when I was little I only liked it as far as Ariel getting her legs, and then I thought the ending
was lacking - and I still rather think the same.

Heh – my dad worked on that.
PixarVixen: Haha. I used to have one of those old Ariel dolls. I think I
gave it away, though. You can image how I feel about that now.
ANY animation should get it really. I got it, it’s amazing! The little machgirl was so
unexpected though, I cant beleve she… well guess youll have to buy it to find out! heh.
(ehem) Any Animation FAN should get it.
And…why
not…? It’s a great film! Heh.
No, it’s not that the film itself is terrible- it’s just that I never
really liked the idea of Ariel having a daughter and all of that. It just seems strange.
I’d get it if I have the cash . . . I always did like this Movie.

Lol. You actually think it’s that good, huh? I’m sure my
dad would love to hear that.
Yeah. Every Disney sequel is weird…with the exception of
The Lion King 2: Simba’s Pride: that one was cool! My
sister and I call ourselves “Kiara” and “Kovu” constantly.
True: Lion King II had a lot of things working
in it’s favor - Pratically a complete Cast Return plus some amazing songs. Not to mention a decent (may not
have been as good as the first, obviously, but decent)
Lion King seems to be the only Disney film besides
Aladdin to have two decent sequels (and I honestly say that with some hesitation, because I’ve never had the
chance to see LK 1/2 fully . . .)

Phoenician: Mmm…yes. It’s hard to find a moderately
good Disney sequel now-a-days, with the exception of the Lion
King and Aladdin predecesors.
The Lion King 1
1/2 – which has been christened with one of the crummiest titles in movie history – wasn’t all
that bad, actually. It was actually quite comical, which was probably due to the fact that Disney "ripped
off" alot of jokes from very popular films (ie., The Fiddler on the Roof,
The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly, etc.). My dad worked on it, as a matter of fact.
That’s the only reason I bought and watched the film: so that I could see dad’s name in the credits. (Turns
out, they didn’t give him credit anyway.
)
Still, it’s interesting to see what kind of pathetic
films Disney will come out with next. The company has such a long history of successful films, that it’s hard
for me to not want to know what features Disney will think up/release next…

I liked The Lion King 1/2 for the fact that I got to see more Timon and Pumbaa, my
favourite characters from the original. They were hilarious in this one, and I thought it was creative how they
ended up connecting with many scenes from the original film, haha.
"Digga-tunnah digga
digga-tunnah!" I love that!
So, I bought The Little Mermaid last night, and sat down
and watched it tonight. It was so great to see one of my favorite Disney classics again, and hear the songs that
were so much a part of my childhood, though now “Poor Unfortunate Souls” has replaced "Kiss the
Girl" as my favorite song from this movie.
The special features are pretty good. It was cool to learn
about the real “The Little Mermaid,” the original story by Hans Christian Andersen, and to see some
deleted scenes and songs. (Yes, there was a song that was written and then pretty much promptly replaced by
“Poor Unfortunate Souls.”) The making-of featurette was almost more of a story of the revival of Disney
animation, which this movie pretty much was. And then you get to - thanks to CGI - ride the ride that almost got
built. It’s not bad of a ride, and they take you into how the ride works and such things.
All in all,
it’s not much more expensive than a one-disc release, so the bonus stuff is practically free. I totally
recommend it.
I’m not sure if I should get it. It was an excellent
movie and I love the songs. But I am happy with the video I have.
