The Lord of the Rings

I forgot. How many awrds and nominations did this

franchise win altogether?

The

Star Swordsman - It won eleven Acadamy Awards in one night. Absolutely incredible. All of the

production crew and actors had to keep getting up to receive their awards. :stuck_out_tongue:

I can remember that

dominating night. BUt what about the entire franchise? All three movies?

That’s Lothlorien - my favourite LOTR place.

The Star Swordsman - Mmm…the entire franchise? To tell

you the truth, I’m not really sure.

Pixel Candy - Yeah, that’s the name of

the place – heheh. I used to be an ubber-Lord of the Rings geek…and now I hardly

remember anything. Thanks for correcting me!

Mitch: It would be hard to

count would’nt it? They were so dominating in the Academy Awards all three nights right?

I think my favorite location is Mordor…some of those scences were just so

wicked! Especially that tower place!(the name escapes me – I’ve forgotten this

stuff)

Anybody read the books? There was this Tom Bombadil guy, he was kinda magical…his house was

pretty cool! :stuck_out_tongue:

The Star

Swordsman Yeah, it is kinda hard to count it all. If you want to know how many awards all three

films won in total…you’ll probably have to look it up on the

internet…

Gasduude - Unless I’m much mistaken, I think the name of the

“tower place” is Minas Morgul, but I’ve forgotten alot of stuff too so…forgive me if I got that

wrong. :stuck_out_tongue:

As for Tom Bombadil: he is one of my favorite characters in the book! Too bad they didn’t show

him in the movie…

I am not talking about

total. BUt Just for the Academy Awards cause that was one of their biggest dominating nights.

Ahh, yes…Minas Morgul. The “good guy”

tower, Minas Tirith, was also pretty cool!

Yeah, I have a friend that’s the same way! Tolkein wrote a

whole book (The Adventures of Tom Bombadil, I believe) about him, so that’s pretty

neat. I haven’t read it yet, but I will sometime!

I can’t believe nobody has mentioned Christopher Lee as Saruman. He did a great job with this character. He’ll be 85 on May 27. I tell ya, we are extremely lucky to have him still with us. He has such a great body of work, including Count Dooku in the recent Star Wars films. Did you guys know that he has never been nominated for an Academy Award? Give the guy an Honorary Oscar for god’s sake. He deserves it!!! Okay, time to get back on topic.

who was your favorite actor in the movie?

I really wouldn’t know the answer to this, but i only know one actor in the LOTR trillogy. That is Sir ian McKellen. He is so cool and he is such a good actor.

Yeah, Ian McKellen was great in his performance as Gandalf. I vote for either Andy Serkis as Gollum/Smeagol or Christopher Lee as Saruman.

Oh gosh, sorry I’m so late in replying…

Haha – the “good guy” tower. Heheh.

Aha – cool! He wrtoe a whole book on Tom Bombadil? I have to read that! Thanks for tellin’ me.

Bill - My favorite actor would definitely have to be Billy Boyd. He reminds me of me. :stuck_out_tongue:
