I’m going! ![]()
I need to travel more. Oh… well, there’s nothing I can do about that.
Maybe next time. ![]()
Man, If only I could. But I guess to who ever is going, have fun!
Awesome! Sounds like fun… Too bad I can’t go, but I look forward to upcoming reports on the matter!
JV - Have a great time! ![]()
– Mitch
Thanks! I’m sure I will. :S
JV - You are most welcome! May I ask if you are going to take any photographs? ![]()
– Mitch
Mitch - Good question. Probably not because I don’t have a good camera.
JV - Ah. I see. Well, that’s perfectly fine with me! Have fun at the seminar, dude. ![]()
– Mitch
You have fun, JV! ![]()
I can understand about you not taking any pics GD. Aw well, enjoy!
Have fun, JV! A camera would be handy for you as pictures help a report immensely, but I’m sure you’ll describe it in great detail.
Have a good time, JV! It sounds like it’s gonna be a really good event. ![]()
My only question is…when is it going to come to the rest of us? This is the number 1 doco I want to see, just in front of Fog City Mavericks.
Thanks everyone! I’m sure I’ll have a blast! ![]()
Well, I just about to leave. I’ll write a report soon.
Hope you have a fun time JV.
TSS -I did! ![]()
I was fortunate enough to attend a showing of The Pixar Story in Austin, Texas on Sunday, October 14th at 7:00 p.m.
My Mom and I arrived about 30 minuets early to the Alamo Drafthouse S. Lamar in Austin. When we got there, we were surprised how many people showed up. After waiting for about 20 minutes or so we were let in the theater and found some good seats. Instead of your normal theater that has rows of seats in front of you and behind you, the Alamo Drafthouse is set up with tables in front of your seats so you can eat a meal. Waiters come by occasionally and get your orders. My Mom and I ordered a pizza that was really good.
Harry from “Ain’t It Cool News” introduced the audience to Leslie Iwerks (the director of The Pixar Story). We then watched the new WALL•E international teaser trailer. Leslie said we were the first ever to see this trailer on the big screen.
In my opinion, this documentary was really fantastic and very informative! Any Pixar fan would really love it! I learned several things that I did not know about Pixar.
At the end of the documentary, the credits rolled. After the credits there was a Q&A session. The Q&A session had some good questions asked from the audience and all in all was fun.
After the 20 minute Q&A session was over, almost every one left besides the working staff, Leslie Iwerks, some other people, and my Mom and I.
After a little while, I went up and talked to Leslie Iwerks and got her autograph!(see at top of post) I asked her how long it took to make the documentary, she said about 6 years. I also asked her if it will be coming to DVD anytime soon and she said probably in about a year.
After a real fun night, it was time to leave and go home.
Here’s where The Pixar Story will be headed in the coming weeks and months:
October 23-25, 2007
Chicago (Century 35)
Dallas (Magnolia Theater)

JV - PLEASE quit the blog spamming. I won’t stop you from posting entire articles you wrote because they are your words but stop posting them as a quote from your blog. Also - you know the rules say no link backs - I don’t appreciate you trying to hide this one in an arrow (->). Do I honestly look that stupid? Now, if you keep trying to bend the rules on me I’m just gonna get harsher on you. And if I EVER catch you posting an item from your blog that originated in it’s entirety from another source again (which I know this one isn’t but I have seen you do) - I will suspend you for plagiarism.
Please & Thank You!
Dash =)
After all that, you don’t have anything to say about the presentation itself? ![]()
~~=oP
Weeelp, sounds like you had a great time there, JV! I hope I’ll be able to see this movie myself, soon - hopefully on DVD. ![]()
So how was the documentary itself? Anything new or special?
