Do you guys have Sims 2 or 3? I went and added the update for Sims 3 to make it version 1.3, and if you havenāt already I advise not too! There are some new features but it takes double the time to load and there are bugs in it. 
I was so mad at myself for doing it, and I had to reinstall the game. Luckily by some miracle it still had my saved content! 
I learned my lesson though- Iām not downloading any updates or patches again. 
Yeah, patches always seem to do more harm than good.

Exactly. And then you have to wait for the next one to fix things but with that just comes new problems. It is never ending cycle I donāt want to get into. 
I havenāt done any challenges, what is that one? I just play and focus on their lifetime wishes and stuff. That and making my house better. I bought an old Victorian that I just loooove.

A āPrettacyā is a challenge where you start with a really ugly sim and try to get the prettiest sim possible in 10 generations Iāve never done it before and I decided to do a challenge because I always do the same thing in all of my games and I wanted to try something different

Iāve tried the normal legacy challenge but I never seem to get past the 3rd generation 
A few years ago someone made something called the Legacy Challenge for the game - itās basically just starting off with one sim, following some set rules and trying to reach the tenth generation.
The rules for The Sims 3 are here.
Thereās a bunch of different variations, like the Uglacy (start out with a good looking āfounderā, try to breed with ugly sims so the 10th generation sim is as ugly as possible), the Prettacy (start out with a hideously ugly sim, try to make the 10th gen look good), Fatacy (everyone in the family must be fat), Rainbow Legacy (every new generation of sims must be decorated in a specific colour), etc.
Iām awful at the Legacy challenge, I get way too attached to my sims and really donāt like seeing them die. 
Itās a really fun challenge though, especially if youāve gotten bored with the game. Come to think of itā¦ I might have another crack at it next week.
I am going to play Sims now. All of my friends and me turned into teenagers yesterday. I love doing challenges. But I only do Sims 2 ones because I donāt have Sims 3. 
Thereās a new expansion pack for The Sims 3 coming out in a couple of days, so Iāll wait until I get it before I start my legacy. I think Iāll do a fatacy this time around, Iāve never done one of those before.
Does that have something to do with fat Sims? And cool that you are getting Showtime.
Yup, everyone in the family must be fat. Iām pretty lazy when it comes to making them work out, so it shouldnāt be too hard to fatten them all up quickly.

I played Sims today. And it is knee deep snow.
I just picked up my copy of The Sims 3: Showtime!
Itās installing now, so hopefully Iāll be able to check out the new town and some of the new objects and gameplay before tomorrow.
That is cool that you got Showtime! I played Sims for the last week. And it was fun. I went to college with my schoolfriend sisters. I have a boyfriend called Abhijeet Turner.
Haha! Those are some neat challenges! And thanks for the site link, Iāll check it out. I do sort of a similar thing but I just make up the challenges myself. Like Iāll create and random sim and just tell myself the goals I want to reach. It might be fun to try a challenge like that though! Yesterday I wound up marrying a man whoās name was Johnny, so when we had the wedding he took my last name and had the exact same name as someone already in my household. I did go and change the coupleās name after that, but I wish they would automatically assume the husbandās name even if it is the girl who proposes.
Oh, and I have a question I have been having trouble with latelyā¦ So, say I want to download some additional content like objects or houses for Sims 3. How do I do it? I have went on modthesims and the sims3 site but they all seem to be for if you have the patches. I just want items for the original version, no patches. And if I do download them, how do they get transferred onto the game? Any help would be much appreciated!
I am not quite sure about the patches part. How you transfer it is you go on your Sims 3 folder in documents. And when you go in it there will be a downloads folder. You click on that and put your download in there. Than you right click on your mouse and click āExtract Hereā than you go on your game and click the enable custom content button and then you might have to restart the game. And then it will be there. But before you do that you save the download into that folder.

Sorry if this sounds rude, but why isnāt your game patched? The ones released just after an expansion pack (like the latest one, patch 1.32) are usually the safest because they generally remove all of the bugs in the game and add features in like basements and memories.
Iām about 99% certain that itās going to need to be patched to get custom content to load properly in-game. Originally EA made it so that you couldnāt download anything into the game that wasnāt theirs. There was a way to add stuff in anyway but it was an extremely long process that basically made you hack into the game. About two or so years ago they changed it so all you needed was to put it all in a certain folderā¦ but you need the game patched to 1.12 or above.
I honestly canāt remember how to do it pre-patch, but thereās a tutorial-esque page at Mod The Sims that will show you how to do it with the patch installed.
Iām really enjoying Showtime! I bought the collectorās edition that has some Katy Perry-styled stage props and clothing which has helped my sim a lot.
At the moment sheās on level 9 of the singing profession, which means she spends most of her time performing at concerts. She kind of got pregnant though so at the moment her careerās on hold until the baby comes. Her husbandās almost level 10 in the music career though, so Iām not sure whatās going to happen when the baby arrives. She makes almost $4000 per performance now so I guess they can afford a nanny.

Raven spent the early parts of her career doing singing telegrams for other sims. Thank goodness thatās over, setting up a concert is a lot more fun than running around town to sing to strangers.
The kitten they adopted seems to have found a friend - one of the wild horses! Having a flock of stray horses makes sense in the town they included in Pets, but Starlight Shores (the one that came with Showtime) is based off Los Angeles, so it looks really weird when youāre standing in the middle of the city and a horse gallops past you.
Cool pictures. When I get Sims 3 I am going to get Pets as my first EP. Because I love horses. That is cool that you are having a fun time with Showtime.

Draik: I donāt have any patches because when I got the 1.3 patch it screwed up my game and made it ridiculously slow. So I had to reinstall the game again which basically left me feeling rather sour towards patches. I might just buy expansion packs instead if I get bored.
