The Sorcerer's Apprentice (Live-Action)

^Okay I actually re-read what I wrote last night just this morning, and I realized I came off way too harsh on my first paragraph. I really have to apologize for that (it was actually 12:00 AM in the morning when I typed it and I was extremely tired and frustrated on a lot of levels, lol.) I didn’t mean to sound rude or unwelcoming, and I’m really sorry if I came off as such. It’s just that I’m a really observant person and I get suspicious too easily.

And DisneyMovies, I hope you don’t mind but is it okay if I can still privately PM you my thoughts on a few things? Especially on films like Tangled and whatnot. I have a lot of worries and concerns I need to get off my chest, and I hope you won’t mind listening to them.

Well, i just got back from my third viewing of Toy Story 3, and a trailer for The Sorcerer’s Apprentice played before the film. I was a little skeptical about the whole thing before, but after seeing the trailer for the first time, I think TSA might actually be pretty good! I’m certainly more interested in seeing it now.

Quite the wet blanket, huh?

I’m not saying that people won’t enjoy it. I’m just not a fan of Nicholas Cage.

I’ll look to see what people think in a couple of weeks.

Fairy 'nuff. TBH, he has only just recently made his comeback. His films prior Planet Terror have been underwhelming, to say the least.

Hi everyone! Sorry I haven’t posted in awhile. I am with a marketing agency that helps Disney promote their movies online and they really do read what people are saying about their films, so any and all feedback is welcome! I’ll be on the Tangled thread too so you can tell me your thoughts there.

Danachii - Please do PM me and I can explain a little bit more with what I do

As for The Sorcerer’s Apprentice, I’m glad to see that some of you are starting to have a little change of heart about it. Think of it as taking those nine minutes from Fantasia and expanding on it. And if not, we think it’ll be fun if you like action and/or magic! The US premiere happened on Tuesday and it’ll be in theaters next week. Can’t wait to hear what you guys think of it.

If you haven’t seen them yet, head over to Yahoo! Movies- we have a bunch of clips, including a whole 5 minute battle scene on there!

OMYWALTDISNEY. This film was seriously amazing  My favorite from Mr. Bruckheimer by far. I don’t know whether it was the magic, the action, how Dave and me are so much alike, or what. But this film, just blew my mind . I really do hope that there’s a sequel soon. because I got out of the movie at 8:00 and my heart is still fluttering. Great job on another movie DisneyMovies! I’ll definately be back for seconds…and thirds

Eh…the reviews aren’t great, and I find Nick Cage kind of boring. I ADORE the short though (I just forced my cousin to watch it because she had NEVER EVEN HEARD OF IT!!! Sin!) and I found it kind of funny that the main actor looks kind of Mickey Mouse-ish (dark hair, dark eyes, thin, kind of boyish looking). Still, I might rent it, just because its pretty cool that they’re making a live action version.

Reviewed it in full here: onemoviefiveviews.wordpress.com/ … e-sorcerer’s-apprentice/

Our consensus was: Jay Baruchel, Nicholas Cage and Alfred Molina are perfectly cast in this fun fantasy-adventure. Filled with good special effects, and even some touches of nerdy romance, this is sure to be enjoyed by older kids and adults alike. ***3/4 (Out of 4)

The broom sequence was cool to see as a throwback to the 1940 Disney classic. I personally don’t mind another version of The Sorcerer’s Apprentice story, since it has roots well before Disney anyway. A bit of history in my review about that actually…

Hope to hear more of what everyone else thinks now that it’s open!

(and off topic… I can’t get the link in the signature to wrap the image properly all of a sudden - any pointers?)

Haha, it’s nice to catch the eye of the Disney marketers, and I just want to reiterate that I have nothing vested in the company or anything (although I do love some of the movies!).

I’m real excited after reading woody and OMFV’s reviews! It’s my understanding that Sorcerer’s Apprentice is out Stateside this weekend? Too bad it’s only out in September Down Under… maybe that’s a point you should consider, DisneyMovies, simultaneous international releases?

Glad to hear that you guys loved the movie! Like I’ve mentioned before, it is above all meant to be a fun movie, so it’s good to know that’s what came across. And nice to hear the performances entertained as much as the special effects. Looking forward to hearing other reviews!

TDT - Noted, although I don’t really have much control over international releases, sorry!
