I just hope the sequel is an improvement on the first and not a definite money grab, which it probably will be.
It would probably be Spongebob on a quest to find his long lost brother or something.
I don’t know if I would like that plot.
What is it was a movie where he and all the classic Nicktoon’s meet?
I don’t know about that. Crossovers can be awesome, but they never seem to work.
YAY! Can’t wait! Hope its an epic and hilauorus ending to an epic and hilarous series! I do love the series but it cannot go on forever!
Like I said in the other thread. I don’t know if I will see this or not unless it’s more like the older episodes. The new one’s are boring, childish and lame. They need to have Stephen Hillenburg
work on it and not the new guy. He may ruin it. Hillenburg will have good ideas.
You think Nick would of learned from the John K/Ren and Stimpy incident.
I guess I’ll re-post my feelings on why Spongebob isn’t the same anymore. It’s gone downhill because it’s not very cartoony. They have some episodes with great slapstick humor here and there, but a lot of the episodes just feel like your watching a sitcom. They don’t bend and stretch Spongebob to their imagination like they used to. They got physical stuff like the underwater world Spongebob lives in. They do not have the creativity behind that world or the ability to rely on new ideas.
15 years is long enough. I went on the Nick website and there are KIDS who want the show to end. When your target attendance is tired of something, it’s time to call it quits.
You are so right Ballboi.
Wait, they’re actually releasing this movie?
That is if it’s the money-grabbing, poorly written, Flanderized Spongebob I expect it to be.
^ That was awesome.
Anyway, I don’t think I shall be seeing this. The older episodes used to make me laugh once in a while, but now they’re just… awful.
I’ll probably end up watching this just because. I enjoy earlier Spongebob episodes (everything 2004 and earlier at least), but the recent output has just been…odd. Can’t think of a better word for it.
This does raise the question, will Nick pull the plug on Spongebob after this one?
Hopefully.
Chuckles: Best reaction ever.
It would certainly feel like the end of an era if they did, but I’m starting to think it’s for the better. Or at least stop dragging it into the ground with new episodes and just occasionally show re-runs.
Ballboi: This will be the deciding factor to see if the show will be ended now instead of later. It depends how well it does at the Box Office, I suppose.
Is this going to be a theatrical movie?
I think so. It will be Paramount’s first in-house animated film.
