Talking about locations made me think that the Incredibles should go on a roadtrip across America, which I think is a fantastic premise for the sequel.
My feeling on the franchise is that it is a movie about a family first, and about superheroes second. The thing I think is important in a sequel is to emphasize that family dynamic, and how it is affected by them being superheroes.
Somewhere along the way the movie could transition from “superheroes on vacation” to “superheroes on the run” from some new bad guy. I have no idea what a good bad guy could be in the sequel, and I think that the villain would be the hardest part to not repeat the first movie.
I like that idea and you are right. The whole aspect of the Incredibles is because of the family trouble. We need to keep that at the forefront through whatever means possible or else it turns into a Spiderman style film…all about the “super awesomeness”…
Thanks TSS i really liked the second one too. The ability to move from places would be really easy and we could include mini-plot lines along the way.
Just throwing out a villain idea: Maybe the new villain could be one of their other relatives. I like the idea of them having a connection to the bad guy like that, it emphasizes the family aspect well. Maybe have him be Elastigirl’s brother or something?
I like the idea about a relative but considering how fun and loving the Parr family is there would have to be a very large distance or emotional even that has ruined the relationship for it to turn to the point of possible harm. It would be harder unless it was a in-law relative or a relative that doesn’t have super powers (by mistake). If he or she considers himself/herself a dud for not getting any power it could lead to a possible falling out from the family later on. Then in order to change the structure and balance of the world that person would devise a plan to eradicate either the superness in supers or supers themselves. Hopefully they would be normal enough to start with taking out the super power but then have to resort to wiping out the super race instead. This would allow us to keep a tight and structured storyline but still get the “bad guy” as a villain and even the family struggle.
Oooohh, i have a revolutionary idea…
What is Jack-Jack loses his power…mostly due to anger control issues. His power could overstimulate and he could go crazy prompting the Parr family to seek special care… unfortunately that special care (which was just recently started by the government) is more of a experimental institution and starts doing tests on Jack. In the end they remove his power and insert it into a DNA Sample for more tests. Jack Jack then gets really out of control taking some other test subjects hostage and ultimately escaping with many of the test results. Fearing that he will no longer ever be super and unable to show his face in public Jack-Jack leaves the country. This could be altered in many different ways to accommadate another storyline like the one mentioned above.
What do you think…i know using Jack-Jack as a primary changing character is something i have been big on for years but because he has so much aggressive power and he is so young the possibilities are endless.
Tell me what you think and we can adapt a storyline around it…
I like the idea of a Road Trip. It actually reminds me of the Disney on Ice story. The Parrs wanted a vacation in Disneyland, but end up being called on to save the park. But I like the idea Reaper!
I know who they could have as a mentor… Or they could call on the man behind the schemes before to stop him, if he’s a good guy. I really like the idea of him being a good guy. ._.
I really do like these ideas, though. :3 Especially since I haven’t been active for so long.
I think I personally wouldn’t mind. I’m not a huge fan of his, and it would be pretty stereotypical, but it wouldn’t directly lessen my enjoyment of a sequel.
