The Ultimate Incredibles Sequel

Because they [i:3ofehvmi]are[/i:3ofehvmi] guidelines… :-\ And if you are smart enough, you would know that they [i:3ofehvmi]do[/i:3ofehvmi] have a direction; those guidelines are important, dude. Crappy movies around the world are in their inferior state because of their lack in following those guidelines.

Besides, I told you, I have not thought of a plot that is good enough, yet, so I am not ready to go into the story yet. Before you set the plot, you need to build the foundations, which is what those guidelines with ‘no directions’ are all about.

Seriously, just at least take a look at them so that we do not end up with something as bad as the Batman movies in the '90s, save those directed by Tim Burton (though he also has a credit as executive producer in Batman Forever; curse you, Tim).

I understand what you mean…i guess the guidelines are a little bit important. I would just like to see us start on some real progress into what we want the story to tell the audience and the hazy outline that we have.

And you want the audience to expectedly know what our story is going to be about? Is that what you want to do? Ruin the spoiler and mystifying atmosphere for our fans?

Come on, Al-Bob. Do what Mr Freeze said, “Chill.” Okay, it was so wrong to even think about quoting him, but you get my point.

COOL. ICE. FREEZE. FROSTY. FREEZE. ICY. COOL. WINTER. FREEZE.

Okay, I’m done.

A little bit important? It is this kind of thinking that creates the poorly made movies of the 21st Century. They don’t focus on the characters, their lines sucked like nobody’s business, the story makes no crappy sense. Everything about them just spells out the word, ‘suck,’ ‘suck,’ ‘suck,’ SUCK! :imp:

And hello? How long has it been since I’ve started this project? Barely a month, and you are calling it hazy? A Pixar movie takes four years. FOUR YEARS, Al-Bob.

We are progressing, Al-Bob; you are just unhappy about how it is progressing. What is your problem?

Okay, chill… relax… this is nothing to be angry about… Sigh.

Just create some sort of anonymous way for us to communicate so that we could discuss the story in private, without revealing the story to the audience.

I agree with Dragon Al-Bob. The opening with the villain in his base should have sort of a creepy silence. People can see how dark he is without him saying a word. That is the power of acting.

True Dragon that Kid working for the bad guy does seem a lot like Mirage. BUt just curious. If people never knew he was working for the bad guy until the end be a little different?

I like it when he spys on the Supers too. BUt maybe we could have him e undercover or something? The supers (Violet in perticular) doesn’t know he is spying on them.

I got your skype message Dragon. I’ll look it up, research it, and post it up here if I feel that I got enough commentary on it.

ohhh…i thought that was just a figure of speech. So 4 years…well then i can rest my mind and let it drift away into creative mode.

Sorry if i’m seeming impatient…i always assume that quicker is better. Patiently quicker…but still as fast as neccesary.
I’ll try to go slower and work more harder at the script from now on…

So we need the Maj. Vill. to not talk. That would just leave him with watching events or scenery around him…does he have the underwater base or does Kid?

Why not call our new character just Kid…Kid Phillips? Nicholas Bartholomew Kid…something like that…

One more thing…i’ll try to get skype or something that will allow me to talk away from the forum here [spoil]that way we don’t give away any more details.[/spoil]
We really could become quite secretive about parts and scenes…then we could give away bits and pieces as previews…that would be awesome!

Al-Bob:

Patiences is golden. The same can be said with a TI sequel. They can take as much time as they want just to make it as good or better than the original.

The main Villain is supposedly supposed to have the underwater base. And he doesn’t have to watch stuff around him. He can still be doing some form of action and still be quiet at the same time.

We called him Kid to save up writing space instead of writng minor villain. For all we know, he might not be named Kid at all. Brad Bird could give him a different name

Thanks…i’ll make sure to keep those ideas in mind…Merry Christmas you two!!

I don’t know what Brad Bird and his team at Pixar might have planned for “The Incredibles2,” but one things for sure-- it would be awfully hard to pick up with the Under Miner and have a solid story line. I mean, jumping right into the action? That’s so not Brad. Just look at how he started the first movie-- with an interview. I think, if we see an Incredibles2, it won’t pick up at the end of the last movie. (But then again, Pixar is one of the best animation studios in the world, and Brad Bird is one of the best writers in the world. Maybe they could pull it off.)

I definately would like to see Brad stick to his theme “the mundane and the fantastic.” It worked so well the first time, and it would be great to see him return to it.

I also think it would be very fitting to see Violet and Dash get bigger rolls in the second movie. We really didn’t get to see much of either of the kids in the first one, and it would be nice to get a glimps of their personal lives.

I’d also like to see Violet get a chance to redeem herself for what happened on the plane. Maybe she would have to generate an extremely large, rugged force field (for whatever reason), but she thinks she can’t do it. But this time she tries, wanting to right the wrong she did. In the end she accomplishes the task, weak from expelling so much energy, but proud to know that she can be just as great a super as her parents.

Violet Parr:

The Underminer at the end of the Incredibles is to present that there could be more adventures with the Incredibles. Brad wanted the audience cheering for more in the end. If you played The Incredibles: Rise of the Underminer, you find out what happens after the Underminer comes in.

I believe Brad Bird would start a possible TI2 with a different approach than start off with the Underminer. What that approach would be? I don’t know. We’ll find out I hope.

I would like to see that too. That whole concept of combining mundane and fantastic is what made TI so incredible, so funny and so successful.

I would love it if the kids got more screentime. Everyone loved the Parr children. And they should play a bigger part for the next movie.

As for the kids and their personal lives, one of Violet’s possible conflicts could be stress and balancing school, time with friends, and her Super Hero duty. For Dash, that is pretty hard. I don’t know one for him yet.

THat is a good idea. But it has to be something different from Missle Lock in the movie. It would be good for her and her character to know that she can be incredible like her parents.

In addition to that and VIolet having more screentime, I wouuld like Violet to have her own chapter. (Helen: Helen & E, Lithe or Death; Dash: 100 Mile Dash) We could explore Violet’s powers. Maybe instead of using her invisibility to hide and her force fields to defend, Violet could use those powers as an offensive force.

I would love for Violet to have her fight scene too. I bet she can hold her own in hand-to-hand combat lik her mother.

Yeah, I’ve played “The Incredibles: Rise of the Under Miner.” I think in picking up the story in a video game, it did better then it would’ve in a movie.

If Brad makes an Incredibles2, he’d probably pick up shortly after the movie, or maybe he would show the kids when they’re older. It would be great to see what they would do when they’re grown up.

When it comes to Violets personal life, I think you’re right, she probably would have trouble balancing her priorities. There would most likely be a lot of anxiety building up inside her, because of all the stress from hero work, school, and her personal life.

As for Dash, you were probably right when you said he would have bully trouble. That might be why he pulls pranks all the time.

I see the kids as being in the same sort of situation. Dash gets picked on and bullied. Violet gets made fun of and ignored. Dash pulls pranks and acts cool to fit in. :sunglasses: Violet, on the other hand, has probably tried to fit in in the past. But as soon as some kids asked her to join them in something she didn’t want to do (drinking alcohol, smoking, disrespecting a teacher, ect.) she’d bail because her ethics were too high. So she became fed up with trying to fit in and just decided to disappear.

As for how Violet would redeem herself, you’re right, it would have to be different from “Missle Lock.” I just meant the basic idea of what she had to do was the same. And, with training, she could use her powers for offensive purposes. And, yes, it would be awesome to see her in a one-on-one fight scene. She could be just as great as her mom and dad in combat. She just needs to practice sparring.

Oh boy, If Brad Bird uses any of our suggested ideas, I would be so excited.

OK I know I’m late to this topic, but I thought I would contribute some of my ideas. Have any of you thought of aliens? I know it’s been done to death and with Dreamworks’ Monsters vs Aliens movie coming up it would be even more cliche, but aliens are so freaking cool.

Seriously an alien invasion story would be epic. Some evil alien overlord bent on conquering the galaxy I mean come on how cool and classic is that? I just love that idea and the plot lends itself to some great epic, story telling.

The Incredibles save the world, not just Metroville. It’s time to up the ante. I want to see The Incredibles fight aliens. I want to see a sequence where Mr. Incredible fights a giant, menacing alien monster.

I want some serious Sci-Fi action. Perhaps we could connect the villain to Mr Incredibles past. What if Mr. Incredible had foiled this alien’s plans for galactic domination in the past.

The Villain goes away defeated, but then hears that on earth Superheroes have been forced into hiding. He returns to earth, but it’s too late after the events of the first film Supers are back.

It’s so Jack Kirby and classic and cool. I love it. Darkened skies filled with an alien armada. Alien troops marching down city streets with human prisoners.

Imagine a climax where all the Superheroes team up to stop this invasion. That would be so EPIC!!!

And you gotta have Frozone.

This is the sequel I want to see.

Not a bad idea but don’t get too carried away with aliends…maybe a horde but not a fullfledged universal invasion.

Although i do like the evil character choice…it would bring out the incredibles to a new level. Not bad…

Yea just imagine The Incredibles in space. So cool. Perhaps at some point in the story they get taken up to the alien command ship in orbit around earth.

That’s where Mr. Incredible fights the giant alien monster.

i could see them meeting an alien “boss” but not in outer space…you would need to really work hard to get that to pass.

Not a bad idea though…an alien boss would be a perfect time for any of the Parr’s to get their solo fighting time.

Oh! come on why not Space?

I like the idea of aliens you guys, but I think it might be a little cliche. Aliens invading the world? Hmm, I think there are a lot of movies that have similar “aliens takeing over” storylines.

An Incredibles sequel could have one of the most interesting villains ever.

I’ve always thought that The Incredibles could have a sequel, but now I see it a difficult thing to plan. Maybe it’s because the first storyline it’s like a circle. And also is the fact of the Watchmen influence, which was great. I can’t see that in a sequel.

Anyway, I don’t know if I want a second incredible coming, but if they annouce it (I doubt it), it would have a massive killer plot.

It would take a long time to plan for just the right villian and just the right plot.

Luke: Everyday, I pray that a new sequel would be announced. TI is probably the only Pixar Film that demands a sequel. I know that Brad Bird’s genious can conjure up an original and terrorizing villain as well as a amazing story.
