It’s day 49. Sadly, I fell asleep halfway last night. That puts me at my 45.5th viewing. I’ll watch it 1.5 times tonight, then I’ll be 3 behind. I’ll be in the car 2 hours tomorrow and then watch it again that night. So, I’ll be only 2 behind. I’ll plan my catch-up from there.
honestly, I don’t understand how anyone could do that without their brain exploding or their eyeballs falling out. I love that movie and fall in love with it all over again whenever I watch it, but if you watch it over and over again all at once, I would think you’d lose that special feeling you get when you pull out the DVD off the shelf and pop it in after a few weeks.
but good luck anyways… it must be a tiring challenge!
Cool blog, EVEisawesome. That’s a good way to keep a record of how things are going and how you’re finding it. And I’m sure there’s someone on here willing to make you a header, since there are so many talented graphics artists here.
Yesterday was a pain. My dad asked me if I wanted to go to work with him (2 hour car ride one way) and I decided to, to catch up another view in WALL-E, of course watching it at night also. It is very hard watching the same movie 3 times in a row in 25 hours, especially already seeing it over 50 times, haha. I barely stayed awake last night viewing it the 2nd time of the day, and I had a very busy schedule (yes, I do have a life and job/hobbies, haha).
So, I’m come back 2 views from that 4 nights of staying up too late with my friend and not being able to get to watch WALL-E. Now, it’s the 59th night, and it’ll be my 57th viewing. In February we’ll be driving 2 days to Colorado, that gives me PLENTY of time to make up for those 2 views.
I suppose that even if you don’t get that “special feeling” after watching it almost daily, you might feel strongly connected to it by the end. You’ll be a Wall-E expert!
One thing that I wonder about is how this will impact your time. Will you have time to watch OTHER movies that you enjoy or maybe have never seen before? I have enough trouble as it is trying to watch all the movies on my very long list of ones to see. Then again, I’m super picky about getting the right moment to watch a film.
Ahem, I have a job, I practice piano a ton, I do my school work, and I spend most of my day learning and designing many different things: bio-mechanically well structured shoes, anthropomorphizing magnetic robots, learning Morse code, Japanese and Vietnamese at once, and well, some other things. I watch WALL-E from 11PM-12:30AM. Is that really a time to be productive? No. I’m sacrificing sleep to do something “useful” which is a psychological test. So, the WALL-E 500 is pretty much a job to learn what will happen upon completion.
Yesterday I watched it at 2PM, but I watched it during a 4 hour car trip. I did school that whole trip, and watched WALL-E in the spare time. I really don’t think you should jump to conclusion that I’m never doing anything useful.
But this isn’t sane or good for you. It just ain’t. Have you been tested for Aspergers’ ? ( and I’m not being sarcastic or funny when I say
that it’s common among the bright, creative and obsessive crowd. )
No, but I have HORRIBLE OCD. I realize how crazy this is, I love psychology and testing these things on myself. I don’t love WALL-E insanely, I just like putting my self to the ultimate test!
Sorry for double post, but last night was a “checkpoint” you could say; the second month of the WALL-E 500 (Nov. 18- Jan. 18 ).
I’m still 2 behind, but I’ve caught up 2. So last night was my 60th view of the challenge. Somehow I still feel like I do not know the movie enough- I want to be able to perfectly replay it in my head. I’m still puzzling some scenes and sounds/music together.
Well, there you have it. This is still going on, and will keep going on. See ya!
I saw all Pixars at least 50 times, except maybe for Ratatouille because of college (and WALL•E since I do not have that for a long time time yet.
And I have seen Finding Nemo more than 200 already and still watch it as often as I can.
Yet another random update. I haven’t been on here for a week or so. So, yeah. Still chugging along. For some reason I can’t replay some scenes in my mind as well as I should. Being my 69th night I should be able to recite it better than I should; but hey, maybe that’s a good thing I’m not sprinting it through. This is a ‘distance race’ after all.
So, I have a, ahem, 2 day car ride next week. That’s one way, so 4 days in the car will easily give me PLENTY of time to catch up those fallen back days. Anyways, any comments or criticism accepted!
Man, you guys are scary! I pale in comparison to all of your awesome level of fanaticism people!
Glad to know you’re still goin’ strong, EVEisawesome. Just keep swimmin’, just keep swimmin’…
Well, I went on a week trip to Colorado. With a 15-ish hour drive one way I was bound to make up the 3.5 views I was behind. All was well, I watched it a few times in the car, and the first night I made another view. My iPod needed to be charged the next day.
My brothers MacBook laid right next to my couch (where I slept) so why look for a charger? I plugged it in and didn’t unplug it until night. “Time to catch up another view.” I though. Scrolling through the video section it read “arimasen” in Japanese (which means “there’s nothing”). Weird, there was no music either. Dang it… I synced my iPod on another computer thus deleting everything on it.
So I fell back 3 views on that trip bringing me 6.5 views behind. Sadly I’ve challenged to watch it 1.5 times for 2 whole weeks, that’s painful. Oh well, I can recite it a lot better now. So, my goal is to be 100% caught up by the 100th day. See you later!
